Old toys and necklaces

The girls spent a night this weekend and discovered a few of Bob's old things that he had put in their room.

Do you remember view masters?  We used to think they were so fun!  The girls had fun playing with this one, but Ruby didn't think Alaina was a bit funny when she found out Alaina was behind her giving her bunny ears.

And how about Animal from the Muppets?  They had a ball making faces at him and figuring out how to make his eyes wiggle and his mouth move.

 Ruby with Animal

Alaina with Animal.

Alaina's toothless smile - after eating a blue sucker!

I had picked up a kit for making necklaces with wooden beads.  Here's Alaina laying her beads out before stringing them.

Ruby told me she could do it all by herself!  And she did...

Here they are, modeling the finished products.

Looks like oodles of fun with the girls. I do remember View Master well. It was one of my favourite things. Back then you could get many different kinds of reels to enjoy.

Oh how I remember the toothless smiles, along with those view masters. My daughters had a Barbie pink one. It's probably still around somewhere. I'll have to dig it out for my granddaughter!

Oh my...Bud would LOVE having Animal from Sesame Street! He was his favorite muppet.

Loved the faces of the girls with animal. And yes I remember tbe viewfinders with all the disks we had. The toothless smile? Was the blue sucker the culprit, or just the teeth miscolored?

Cute models.

Every time you post pictures of the girls, I cant get over how fast they are growing. Looks like they had some fun with the 'old' things, as well as making the necklaces.

Oh I remember how fascinating view masters were to me as a a child living in the country. It was the only way I could see far off places. I remember we had some slides of London that I would look at over and over. Cute necklaces that the girlies made...you are starting them right Mari with those crafting skills.

ahhh...those girls are just so adorable, Mari. And they are growing up so fast! I especially see the change in Ruby's looks. They both did a great job with their necklaces.

Oh...and, yes, I remember the View-Master. I don't remember who gave me mine, but I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I had so many different cards to view and it was like reading a book...I can be anywhere I wanted to be just by looking through that View-Master! Thank you for the memories.

My 4 year old great niece just found a Viewmaster in our toy box and was mesmerized. I guess the oldies are still goodies! ;)

They are just the sweetest Girlies. And you're the sweetest Gram!! Love the blasts from the past. I adored viewmasters and looking at the slides. ;) And the Muppet Show was my FAVORITE show as a kiddo. Lol
Blessings on your week sweet Mari xoxo

You are a fun Grandma! We still have a View Master...maybe more than one. Puppets scared some of my kids so we didn’t have many. I think the one we had for our kids is still around but for the life of me I can’t remember what it is....maybe a duck?? Brain fail 😜

Those two are the cutest kids in Michigan and maybe its contiguous states too. I think Ruby finally found her spirit animal in Animal. Haahaha xoxo
