Memories

I went past this cute building the other day and had to stop and take a picture.  This is where I went to school from Kindergarten to 2nd grade.  When I was in school here there wasn't all the playground equipment that you can see now.  There were just a few swing sets and a merry go round, but what fun we had on that playground!  I remember art classes in the basement, a room in the middle of the other rooms that was lined with hooks and a shelve for our coats and lunch boxes.
It is no longer a school.  Right now it's a child care center, but before it was purchased there was talk of it being torn down.  I'm just glad it's still standing!

My old school is now a school for the kids who are on in school suspension. I ride by it every now and then when I am in Chatsworth as it brings back good memories.

A beautiful building...I'm glad they 'recycled it's use for another purpose. It makes sense these days when city/county/state budgets can use a 'lift'.

Fun memories! My childhood school is still a Christian school....although it’s much bigger than the three classrooms back then for grades 1-8. (1-3; 4-6; 7- 8)

Oh how sweet, Mari. I'm glad that it wasn't torn down also. I can still go by the three-room schoolhouse where I went from 1st grade through 6th. It is also a pre-school facility now.

I'm so fortunate that the school I attended in grades 1 - 8 (Manheim Christian) is still alive and well, and a lot bigger than it was in those days. My children also attended that school and I taught music there for over twenty years. It makes me sad, though, that since I've moved away nine years ago, all those kids I had are now graduated from that school. If I went back to visit, none of the current students would know me. There are a number of teachers still there that I had such a wonderful bond with.
