Home and Cottage Show

Last weekend Bob and I went to the Home and Cottage show in Grand Rapids.  Bob's workplace always has a booth there, showing grills, patio materials and other outside living things.

Here's Bob's workplace booth, with his co-worker Rachel at work in it.

These shows are so fun to walk around in, especially in the Spring.  It's good to see greenery and flowers!

There was even this fun playhouse, that was built over a waterfall.  What kid wouldn't enjoy this?

Our favorite spot was a landscaper who had the center of the show.  His spot was set up with reminders of the Old Testament.

There were paintings depicting some scenes, like this one showing the Red Sea opening for the Israelites to cross over.

The paving bricks, had bricks inset for each of the 10 commandments.

This landscaper is from our area, and gets a lot of supplies from the store where Bob works.  He asked Bob to make a sign for this display.

Here's the sign.  It was at the end of the display, after you walked through.   He Is Risen!
It was a beautiful display, with a message that isn't displayed publicly very often.

Mari, I was so blessed to read about the landscaper in the middle of the show. What a testimony he has for the Lord! And I love the sign he had Bob make for the end of his display. The painting depicting the parting of the Red Sea just makes me think about how exciting the Israelites must have been as they walked across on dry land. Thank you so much for sharing this!

Looks like a nice event and I love the green and purple plant. Do you know what it is? unusual. Neat that the landscaper had the type display and Bob's sign was a good ending.

Linda - it's a Heuchera, or Coral Bells.

Mari, that plant caught my eye too. I think I have a coral bells plant. But the leaves aren't as colorful, at least I don't remember them to be. Most shade plants need a bit of sun and that's a hard spot to find around my house! Challenging indeed, to know what and where to plant some pretties.
The show looks like a great one. Thanks for sharing it!

What an interesting Home and Cottage showcase. We have them every year too though I've never gone. I'm sure it would be too much eye candy for me, lol. I would want everything I see.

I assume it was a Christian exhibition? Love the bike surrounded by flowers.

He is Risen Indeed!! How great to have a Biblical/Christian theme in a central location like that! Some places wouldn't even allow it. A blessing for all!! It is something we need to see more of, that's for sure!

I love the sign Bob made! He is risen indeed!
Reading this from the other end of the world, it made me be very thankful. We get most of our info and news of the US from the TV and some internet and the media would make you believe that almost no one believes in our Lord Jesus Christ anymore. That displays like you showed would be forbidden or rediculed. I was surprised and pleased that they still take place and that makes me thankful.

So impressed with all the Christian references. I haven't seen anything like it here in the UK. Wonderful
