Sentimental Journey

I stopped at my Dad's Friday and my stepmom was excited to show me something.  She said my Dad found the old baby buggy my Mom used for us in the rafters of the garage and took it down.  She spent several hours cleaning it and was anxious to show it to us.

I'm the oldest of my siblings and was born in 1960, so this buggy is probably close to 54 years old.

The cushion inside has pink and blue lambs on it and looks like something you would see in the 60's.

I love the big wheels!

Here's something else they had.  It's a picture of my Dad.  I don't know how old he was but I think he's pretty cute.  I can really see it's him.  I love these old pictures!

We've had a sad event on my Dad's side of the family.  I'll be going to a funeral on Tuesday for my cousins husband.  He went into the hospital to have a relatively minor surgery on his esophagus, 3 weeks ago.  He ended up having numerous complications and passed away Thursday afternoon.  He was only 55 years old and was very healthy.  It's a reminder that we all need to be ready, we never know when it's going to be our time.  Brad was a strong Christian, so I know I'll see him again.  I'd appreciate your prayers for his family.

So sorry about your cousin's husband. Very sad and so young. It's true...we don't know how long we have. So important to know where you're going even if you don't know when!

My sympathies to your family for their loss.

That baby carriage is awesome. And to think it's been saved for all those years. Oh, and your father...he looks so happy and proud in that photo...cub scout/boy scout?

My daughter has the basinett that I was born in. I used it for her and her brother and both of them used it for their children. It's 60-yrs-old and a piece of family history.
That is a wonderful stroller--part of your family history.
So sorry to hear about your cousin---will lift you all up in prayer.

I am so sorry for your family's loss, Mari, and will certainly keep your cousin and all in my prayers.

The buggy is wonderful, and how nice that your step-mom spent so much time cleaning it up. Is there anyone to pass it on to, who can use it?

The picture of your dad is great. I love the gleam in his eyes.

Thanks for sharing.

How SAD about your cousin's husband!! I'm so sorry.

We had a baby buggy just like that one! I think we called it the "coach".

Dick's parents are going through things in their attic too.

My condolences to your cousin; what a terrible valley but I know the Lord will sustain her. And you're right about these windows on the past. They teach us that life is brief, but all the sweeter for it. I can see your mother proudly and tenderly pushing you and your sisters down the street in your pram. I know you miss her. xoxo

When men are so healthy and no health problems at all, then this happens, it is such a shock! I pray for his wife and family. It has to be soooo hard!

I love the big wheels on your buggy. You know, I think they are back in style again.
