Blueberry Picking

Last week a group of us from work decided to go blueberry picking after work.  One of the group had been here the night before and said the blueberries were wonderful!

The little shed were we had to sign in and get out picking buckets.  Don't you think it's a fitting color?

This is our business office manager, Becky.  She's a real goof, and was teasing this boy named Billy.  He was taking us out to the field in a golf cart and she told him he had to have his picture taken so people all over the world could see it on this blog.  :)

Here's Becky and Carrie.  Carrie is our MDS (Minimum Data Set) nurse.  She inputs all sort of data into the computer to satisfy the government about the care of our residents.

Look at all those yummy blueberries!

Becky, Carrie, Vonnie (another nurse) and her daughter are ready to go!

This is Maggie and her daughter Grace.  Maggie is our wonderful director of nursing.
I'm so blessed to work with all these people, who are friends as well as co-workers.

Here's some of our blueberries when we checked out.  I picked 11# and paid just a little over $15 for them.  I froze most of them and saved some to eat fresh.

I took this to show you how big the berries are.  The middle berry is on top of a quarter!
It was a good nights work.

This looks fun, Mari. Those are some big, plump berries. I saw blueberry pancakes on someone's blog earlier tonight. Made me hungry. Glad you work with such a great group of women.

Well that is quite a refreshing display of esprit de corps. Most people can't stand most of the folks they work with! You are fortunate to have such a great bunch of ladies as colleagues, and I know they realize the great fortune they have in you. Those blueberries are positively mesmerizing. xoxo

And how many did you eat before they got in the bowl. D Looks like a fun thing to do, I've been strawberry picking in my youth but never for blueberries. Strangely enough I had a blueberry pancake yesterday morning and it was delicious!

Aw, how fun! I love berry-picking but I can't really do it where I live now. I was going to say, the building's color is perfect for a blueberry patch! And those berries look huge and perfect. Enjoy!

Nothing...NOTHING can beat Michigan blueberries. I and my MIL would do the same when she was alive. Ohhhhhhhhhhh, so good.

Looks like fun.

Fresh sweet blueberries are hard to beat! We used to get them directly from New Jersey in 20 pound cases. I do remember picking them one time as a kid and a snake surprised us. Now I would have a hard time going into a blueberry patch, I'm afraid.

Great pics of the fun you had too. It really is wonderful to have fun with co-workers. When I worked at school the staff had so much fun together. I really miss that.

Wow! My mouth is watering with all the thoughts of blueberry pancakes, and muffins. Might just need to go out and buy me some although they are never like fresh picked berries.
