Time to visit the Greenhouse

There is a huge greenhouse near us that attracts customers from all over the state. We had people stop at the nursing home once to ask directions to this greenhouse and they were from upper Michigan!
I made my stop there last week to get a few things.  I was smart to avoid being there on Saturday.  I heard traffic was backed up quite a distance, just waiting to get in.

This is a picture a friend posted on facebook showing the cars lined up to turn in.

Here's the front of the building. You can get more than plants here.  There's a chili dog and mexican food place set up near the entrance.

Once you make it through the entrance, you see this...

And then you see plants, lots of plants.  This is standing in the middle of the greenhouse, looking to one side.  This greenhouse sits on 107 acres, and the greenhouse itself is 250,000 square feet.  It really is hard to imagine without seeing it in person.

We did a lot of wandering around, and left with this cart full of pretty plants.  Now I just have to keep them alive!

Ooh...I love your choices! I can't believe that place! I guess they feed you because you really could spend all day there! Amazing!

Pretty, pretty flowers! That greenhouse is HUGE!! Please post a photo, once you get them planted. I know they will look great! I would love some color in our yard, but I just don't want to have to take care of them when it is 98° outside. I am such a bum.

Terri- they are hanging baskets and a pot for my front steps. No planting required! :)

Girl! Those are beautiful but I am overwhelmed just thinking about a place like this. I've never seen anything like it! Your yard is going to be even prettier and that's hard to imagine. xoxo

The sign that says "corn dogs" seems so funny to us as we don't have anything called that here in the UK. It looks like a wonderful place to shop for plants!

What an amazing place. I'm sure you must have bought some fabulous plants. That traffic photo was funny, I don't think I've ever seen such a popular greenhouse before.

I would love to visit your greenhouse. I just cannot pass up a greenhouse even if I don't need any flowers. I must do a walk through.

Today we did just that. After we got out of the medical center, there was a greenhouse on the way home. We did buy some marigolds for some color in the fall of the year.

I have been on the look out for red verbena.....my favorite flower this year. My favorite changes from year to year. I just love flowers.

I just saw red verbena the other day, Cheryl! And I thought of you, hahaha!! You were always my inspiration.

Mari, this green house is beautiful! It will be fun to see what you do with your plants.

We were there on Wednesday. What we wanted was in the far corner of the greenhouse. So an hour later we arrived. lol What a place...

Hi Mari! I would be in heaven here. But boy, I'd have to be patient waiting to just get in the place. Yikes! The plants look really healthy too.
What did you end up getting? I bought marigolds and pansies this year. Here's hoping they make it!
June Blessings,
Ceil

It's a good thing that your greenhouse is too far for me to get there....I'd go berserk having a hey-day, shopping and just browsing and ogling it all.
