Sisters shopping day...

Every year my sisters and I look forward to sisters shopping day.  We choose one of the first Fridays in November and go out, armed with lists, deals and coupons to get as much Christmas shopping done as possible.  We go early so we don't have to deal with snow and slippery roads, plus it's just nice to get it done.
This past Friday was our day.  We shop all day and stay in a hotel at night.  The next morning we usually end up doing a little bit more before we head home.  I'm blessed to have 2 wonderful sisters and we always have fun when we're together.

Here's the result of a days shopping!  We were remembering what it used to be like when the kids were young and the boxes were bigger.  We would have both bed loaded up with stuff.  Now, the gifts are smaller in size, but not any cheaper...

We always get a yummy dessert to go, and enjoy it in the hotel while we rest our tired feet.  So much fun, and productive too!

What a lovely way to get a start to the Christmas season. It is so nice to hear of family that gets along and wants to spend time with each other. That dessert is definitely something I would have ordered....chocolate!!

There is nothing better than sister time...especially when it involves shopping!

What fun that must be each year!! How nice that you have that to look forward to. My sisters are younger, and unfortunately, one would not be able to afford it (she makes our gifts, and they are priceless!) and the other sister would make me crazy if I had to spend an entire day shopping with her! LOL Love her dearly, but I can't shop with her! I am envious that you got your shopping done, though!!

You are so wise to shop early, and to spend the day with your sisters is a plus. I have no siblings, and do not like to shop, so it is internet shopping for me. The dessert looks so yummy.

I've been following your Christmas shopping days since you first started posting about it, and I still enjoy it so much, especially the dessert! LOL!
I don't have the stamina to keep up with such an excursion, but I'm with you in spirit!

Such a fun tradition! And it would be so nice to have the bulk of your Chistmas shopping done before Thanksgiving!

For years now I've enjoyed reading about this tradition of yours. I'm only amazed by how quickly it has come and gone for another year! I was thinking today, time to bug TG to get up in the attic and bring down the tree and trimmings. I like to have it decorated in time for Thanksgiving so that the grandkids can switch on the lights on Thanksgiving night, ushering in Christmas! And that is only two weeks away. God bless America, amen.

This was a great weekend to shop! The Veteran's Day Sales were everywhere. The gas prices are way down too. We almost drove south to the mall today....almost...but we heard that snow was coming tonight so we stayed home and raked the leaves out of the yard. Now, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! I am glad that you, Terri and Cheri had a fun time.

Sounds like a great tradition. After all that shopping/walking, you need a yummy dessert!
I'm taking time off from posting while we catch up with dr. appts. etc. I'll be around to visit and feel free to email any time.
