Good bye Snirt, Hello Spring

Last weekend we had to set our clocks forward an hour, which is always a good sign that Spring is coming! I've also seen a few robins, something that is a good herald of Spring here in Michigan.
Last week, Kim left a comment here that it was time to get rid of the snow on my blog, since Spring was coming. Of course, I listened to her!
I also decided it was time to get rid of this guy:
This is an old milk can that came from my Dad's farm. It sits by our garage door, and I put different signs in it, to go with the season. I took out the snowman and put in one that say's Welcome Friends, with flowers instead of snow.

I'm posting this picture for Pat of Living on Grace. She lives on the other side of Michigan and last week she posted a picture of her snirt. She says snow + dirt equals snirt! She only had a small patch left. I have quite a bit because much of our yard is shaded. Hopefully this will be gone soon, although I did hear a forecast that said more of that white stuff may be coming on Wednesday. Hopefully they are wrong!

And here, in another section on our yard is a wonderful thing! The crocus are starting to come up! These signs of spring make me happy!

Hey-I am glad you got rid of the snow falling on your blog too. I mentioned that a long time ago! :)
Love the new growth in the yard. I see some things coming up in mine too. It is an awesome feeling.

Snirt is funny! Does Pat live near me? Most of our snow is melted now, although when we went to one of the nature centers on Thursday we were hiking through some snow in some shaded areas also. We are supposed to have snow showers one day this week, but probably not as much as you coming off the lake. We, on the other hand, have nothing coming up out of the ground anywhere. You are always earlier than us on that front it seems like.

Still giggling about snirt!

I love your crocuses. That is a sure sign of spring, although it didn't feel much like it today.

Our crocuses are gone already. Daffodils are in full bloom, bowing their cheery little heads under all the rain we've had lately. Funny what a difference a climate makes, isn't it?

Happy Spring! My daffodils are starting to peek through the ground. It finally feels like Spring is here.

Mari, the spring feeling on your blog gives me a sense of excitement for the new things ahead! And the picture of the crocus sprouts is beautiful.

Happy Spring... March 21 is the official start of spring!

Good bye to snirt...mine is all gone now!
I have something green poking up through the dirt, I think it may even be a grape hyacinth, I can't remember what's planted there!
Come on Spring weather!

So glad to see the end of winter and hopefully March will continue to give us more and more spring like temps. Of course all of us in MI know that ANYTHING can happen yet (in regard to weather), at least now if it snows, the ground will be too warm to let it stay for long. An end is indeed insight.....

Snirt...that's hilarious! I think all of ours is gone and I hope it stays that way! Bring on the flowers! :)

Snirt! What a great word! It sounds as ugly as snirt looks! We have a wet dusting of white on the ground with more promised for tonight. A few beautiful days here and there are what keep me going. Soon there will be more of those than these.
