I'm in the money!

I thought you would like to see the huge check I got in the mail. I'm not sure how I'm going to spend it all!
Apparently I paid 2 cents extra on my Penney's bill a few months ago. They sent me a few statements tells me I had a 2 cent balance, then sent me out this check.
Anyone have any idea's on what to do with it?

I just checked my bank statement and my checking account earned 2 cents interest this month!
If you put your 2 cents with my 2 cents...we still can't buy anything!

I'm killing myself laughing over here!! All the expense and postage wasted! Frame it!

I got one from Penney's for about 10cents a mo. or two ago. I could just imagine driving up to the bank window and asking them to cash it. Wouldn't that be funny?

I'd frame it and look at it when you need a laugh.

I got a penny interest on my checking. Let's see, Pat's 2 pennies, your 2 pennies...if Aspiemom would contribute a nickel of her money we could meet somewhere and share a piece of bubblegum! Oh, wait, the bubblegum machine costs a quarter. Darn!
Ya, I'd frame it.

btw, I bet that lady felt like a dork signing her name to that check!

That is so crazy! Working at the bank I see this alot. I have to say, this one is the SMALLEST one I've seen so far. Cost more to mail it. Ha.
You know the old saying, A penny saved is a penny earned...or is it the other way?

Have fun spending it...or saving it for your grandkids!!

((hugs))

Mari,

That is about the way I felt when I got an IRS refund for $1.67. I decided against cashing it. Perhaps one day they will realize that and send me another one with compound interest.

Please stop by my blog today, as I have an urgent prayer request this morning for my brother in law.

I think they are just "putting in their two cents."

That amazes me! I came across your blog just by happenstance, and saw this. It costs $.44. I would write Return to Sender on that puppy, with a little note affixed to it stating, "You've just spent $.88 in mailing a $.02 check." However, you have to give them credit for having an awesome finance department. At least they know where the $.02 goes. (I worked in retail finance for 5 years... So I am amazed at this!) haha.

I would frame it! The processing of the check, mailing it out, was so not worth it for them to send you a check. That is funny!

I had a 4 cents credit coming from a company one time and I never did get my 4 cents. Pennys is at least honest and sent the money. However, why didn't they just wait until you bought from there again and give it to you that way. Too funny!

that's funny - don't think you can even get gumballs for a penny anymore.

Well girl, don't go hog wild and spend it all in one place! Heeehehehe! Guess JCPenny just put in their two cent's worth.

Golly gee I'm old, I remember penny candy but this is just too funny!

Just think of the money they spent tellin' ya you had a two cent credit and then cut you a check.

Ya'll have a marvelously blessed day!!!

You have to admit. ..They are honest:) Yes it cost THEM more to send it, but it is YOUR money, whether its $2.00 dollars or 2 cents. I give them credit for honesty. Have a great weekend:)

I'm sure it was to balance their books...but how hilarious! Maybe you could "trade up" for SOMEthing...Didn't I hear of a fellow who started with a paper clip or something and kept trading up till he bought a house in Canada????

That is the funniest thing ever! Man, back in the day you could have gotten 2 pieces of bubble gum, but you can't even do that now days.

So nuts that they would spend the money on paper, postage and time to refund you for 2 cents. Something is nuts about that.
