This is my niece Halle (she is Cheri's daughter) greeting Andy at the airport. She was excited to have him come home.
Last Christmas each kid in her class drew him a picture and sent him a little letter. She is in first grade and those letters were so much fun. There was a big concern from many of them that Santa wouldn't be able to find him. Many asked where he slept. Today he went to talk to the class.
Here he is showing them where South Korea is in relation to the United States. He talked a little and then answered their questions. He also brought some coins along so they could each have a Korean coin to keep. Those were a big hit!

Here is the whole class with Andy and the teacher.

I had to share this note Halle gave to Andy at the airport. It's hard to read so I'll translate it:
Rozes (roses) are red
Vilitse (violets) are blue
I coudt (couldn't) never have a bettr (better) cusin (cousin)
and he is strong!
Isn't that cute? I know Andy thought it was great!

She was still excited when she got home that he came to her class.
I do love that letter- she really is a sweetheart!
How sweet is that! I love that one of the first things he did is go to her school and meet with her class. What a great guy!
I just love going back and looking at the little notes and letters my kids wrote when they were about that age...you know, when you had to translate. So much fun!
How fun!
I love that poem Halle wrote for Andy! :)
That is soooo neat!!! I think you are enjoying having him home for sure!!1
I love how all three of the girls greeted Andy with a huge hug at the airport!! I can imagine how excited Halle was to see Andy at her class and can just hear her telling all her friends that he was her cousin! I am sure that she was very proud (just like we all are of him!).
The kids must have been so excited to see him! And I'm sure that they learned a lot too! Halle is so proud to have Andy for a cousin!! Her classmates probably all want to hang out with Halle and Andy :)
So glad you are all united once again...and glad Andy's trip was safe (and hopefully uneventful).
What a neat thing for Andy to do and Kudos for giving them coins to remember it. Very fun!

I love the letter and how wonderful that Andy was able to go to the class and meet all those who sent him letters. That was very sweet of him. You have a good boy Mari!
That is the best "Roses are red" poem I have ever read! That is a keeper!
This is so cool! I wonder how many of the kids were inspired to serve their country by seeing and hearing the first hand experiences of someone doing just that?!
The coins were such a nice touch, too!
How neat! I love the picture at the airport and poem!
