Slow Cooking Thursday

It's Thursday and that means it's time for another slow cooker recipe. This is a good chicken recipe I think you will like.

Continental Chicken

3 ounces dried beef (in bags in lunch meat section)
6 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
2 cups sour cream
2 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup flour
6 slices bacon

Grease slow cooker bowl and line with beef slices. Wrap one piece of bacon around each chicken breast. Place 3 breasts in slow cooker. Mix together sour cream, soup and flour. Pour half over chicken. Place 3 more chicken breasts in slow cooker and pour rest of sour cream mix over top. Lay remaining beef on top. Cook on low for 8 hours.
* I use light sour cream and soup and it turns out fine.

I've been making that recipe for years-In fact right after we got married we had Mark's grandparents over and it's what I made for them- it's still one of our favorites!

Sounds muy delicioso! I recently found a dried mushroom soup mix that I'm hoping can be used interchangeably with canned soup in recipes like this.

Sounds fabulous... and fattening! LOL. It's not bad with the light sour cream, eh? Still... it would be missing something without the bacon, don't ya think? May have to just count the points for this one! Too good to pass up!

I made your Pasta Fagioli (sp) today and it turned out fantastic! My husband isn't home until later tonight, but he's going to love it. His mother came over from Italy and he grew up on this stuff but has rarely had it since she died.

Thanks for that recipe!

So Mari, what size crock pot do you use for your recipes? Do you only have one size? I've wondered for a while so I'd know how your recipes would work in my crock pot and if I'd need to double the recipe for it and for my family. Do you usually just serve yourself and Bob with these also?

Kayren - the size I use most often is 5 quart. These recipes make enough for 2 meals for our family or serves Bob, Heather and me with plenty of leftovers. Hope this helps!
