How has this happened?

Last week Bob and I celebrated our 39th anniversary!  It seems such a short time ago that we stood on that hot summer day and got married.  We were young (I was almost 20, Bob had just turned 23).  We thought we knew everything!  Looking back, we see how naïve we were and we're thankful that God had a plan!

It was a beautiful day, it was a beautiful wedding!

And here we are - 39 years later.  3 kids, 2 son-in-laws, 1 daughter-in-law, 2 grandkids and one on the way.    Has every day been wonderful? No.  Have we had arguments?  Yes.  Have there been hard times?  There sure have!  But - God has blessed us so much in these years and even through the hard times, maybe especially through the hard time, we've found we can count on Him!  I'm so thankful God brought us together and has taken care of us through everything.

We went out for a nice supper to celebrate on Friday.  Here's Bob showing you the huge spoon they gave him for his pasta.  It was a serving spoon, not something you could put in your mouth.

We laughed, as we have done so many times, we thanked God for each other, for the years He has given us and for the way He has blessed us!

Congratulations on 39 years! I loved seeing your wedding photo! I was going to mention the serving spoon for the pasta but it doesn't look like spaghetti or even long noodles that you can twirl using the spoon. Very funny! I'm glad you got out to celebrate!!

A big congratulations to you and Bob on reaching your 39th year together. That's awesome and I love how you stayed focussed on the Lord who brought you through it all. Your anniversary dinner looks delicious and I'm glad you were able to get out to enjoy it. Time does have a way of passing so quickly. I pray you will get to enjoy many more years together.

I just figured out that we are then years apart. We will be celebrating 39 years in October, and I also was not quite 20 when we got married!

Tell Bob I said quit your bellyaching and eat with the spoon you're given! Haaaaahahaha seriously that's funny. His expression says it all. YOUR dinner looks delicious! And I LOVE that wedding photo, love seeing it every year, love it that y'all have been married so long. I know how it is ... TG and I have 41 years and I must say, I enjoyed every moment of our 40th anniversary year, took four trips, got a diamond anniversary band, and just generally lived it up. Then 2020 came ... so I'm glad I got all my celebratory doings in before everything went pear-shaped. I shall pray that YOUR 40th anniversary year is as awe-inspiring and memorable as ours was. Happy Anniversary to two of my faves! xoxo

Happy belated Anniversary! A love like you have, that keeps God at the center of it all, is everything. I fought so hard for mine...and I think if Ad had shared faith with me it could have made all the difference. I treasure seeing marriages like yours that last the test of time. Loved seeing your wedding pic too! So cute!! I pray. you have many more blessed years ahead. 💝
