Taking a break

I'm going to take a little break from blogging.  I have an online course I need to finish on infection control in a skilled nursing facility from the Centers for Disease Control.  It's about as exciting as it sounds, but it has to be done.  It consists of 24 modules and I've made it through 12.
Today I was called into work at 8:30 am because the state inspectors arrived for our annual survey.  When that happens, all managers have to come in and stay till they leave each day, so it's going to be a long week.  We couldn't believe they showed up on Mothers Day.  A lot of people had their plans messed up for the day...
Also, Bob's mom is doing very poorly.  You may remember that she came to my facility  for Rehab, but now is declining rapidly.  It's been a mixed blessing having her with me.  Bob's sister also works there as a dietician, so we are both able to check on her often.  It's hard though to see this big decline and then step back and keep working.  She is a Christian, so we know there is a much better place for her, and we are praying it won't be long.
See you soon.

You do important work and I can understand your need for a break, I’m sorry your mother-in-law’s health has declined, it’s nice that she’s able to be in a facility you both work at, best wishes to you all,

Oh Mari!
I feel your pain. How rude and really kind of disrespectful to have the state folks come on mother's day - like really?!???
Prayers for it all to go well this week. And especially prayers for Bob's Mom and family. 🙏 Sending loving thoughts to you all. Smart to take a break and focus on those important areas in your life and make sure you take care of you too 💜 xo

I've had you on my mind for days (this is the first time with stable internet).

My thoughts continue now that I've read your post before your break. And hugs to your family.

I am just now reading all your blog posts this week. I loved the Princess Party for the Mother/Daughter banquet. Alaina and Ruby looked so cute as usual. I am sorry for the loss of Bob's mother. I lot has been going on around your house and lots of changes. Hope you get the time to get your lessons done. I copied your recipe for banana cake. I hope to make that some day. Thank you for the recipe. I read the cartoon to Alan. He likes cartoons.

Your Memorial Day image is sad yet inspiring. Poignant!

Hope your trip to Texas with your sisters will be safe! (It's been very hot here...heat index in the 100° range)
