Old married folks!

Sunday was our 35th anniversary!  Here we are all those years ago, thinking we knew it all!  It's hard to believe it's been that long, but we know we have God to thank for the blessings of those years.
We went to our favorite restaurant to celebrate on Friday night, but here's what we did on the actual date.

We went to church in the morning, where a good friend surprised us with this balloon and some chocolates.

After church, we took a picnic lunch out to a park we love to visit.  We had lunch there and walked the trails.

This park has:

 beautiful flowers...

 lots of fun bridges...

beautiful trails...

fun things to see along the trail, like mushrooms and mosses...

 a pretty little stream...

neat tree roots...

hollowed out tree trunks where Bob can goof around...

this gorgeous lookout spot that give beautiful views of a huge ravine...

 lots of ferns...

and so many beautiful trees.

In the evening, Laura and the girls came over to bring good wishes and a nice gift certificate from all our kids, to put towards an upcoming vacation.

Here's some beautiful roses that Bob gave me.

And here we are, attempting to take a selfie!  35 years later, we're still happy and thankful that God brought us together all those years ago.

Happy anniversary, Mari! God bless all your family. Last night, reading your blog article about the tornado in your area got me thinking about the close calls we had living in Kalamazoo years ago, well last night here in Massachusetts an EF1 tornado touched down in Concord, damaging 40 houses, tearing down trees. An EF1 isn't as strong as the ones you canget in the Midwest & western states, but it's stronger than the rare tornados we have gotten in the past. My daughter went into her basement up in Waltham at 3am as the siren went off. Thankfully it missed them.

Happy Anniversary! It looks like you had a nice celebration. You have just a couple years on us, but my husband wore a very similar tux for our wedding. So dashing!

What a great weekend of celebrations! I am guessing that Bob's foot is better since he was walking the trails with you. We prayed for him. The one huge tree in that park! I can't get over those kind of trees that you have even in your yard. They look like they have been around for a long, long time. They look majestic!
