A day in my life

Can you believe it's October already?  I usually do a post on a day in my life on the first of the month.  This post is about October 1, but I didn't want to skip Cooking Thursday, so I waited till now to post this.
Anyway - here's what I did on October 1.

It was my day off.  One of the best things about a day off is not having to get up early.  I had worked 2 - 12 hour days on Monday and Tuesday, so sleeping in was wonderful!

After getting up, I sat and caught up on the competer and took it easy for a bit...

Then I went and had a badly needed manicure.

From there I went to the grocery store and picked up a few items I needed for the day.

It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining and the temp was 63 so I took the back roads home.

You can see just a hint of Fall color starting on the trees.

The trees on our road are still pretty green, but there are some leaves falling to the ground.

I did a few loads of laundry and cleaned the bathrooms.

I made this bowl of pasta salad for a potluck that was planned for the next day at work.  One of our aides is leaving us, and we always have a potluck on their last day.

I went out to get the mail and along with the usual bills and junk mail I found this!  Anything that says Royal Mail has to be good, right?  It was a wonderful package from Lauren at Sola Scriptura.

She sent a tract that looks like money for Alaina to play with, and this beautiful heirloom crocheted bonnet for my granddaughter who is due in about 4 weeks.  What a sweet thing to do!  I have to say this was the highlight of my day!

I had time to work on my Bible Study.  If you ever have the opportunity to join a Beth Moore Bible study, I highly recommend it.

I made Bob's favorite supper - meat loaf and scalloped potatoes.  It's been a while and he was happy to come home from work and find this.

I spent some time after supper working on some continuing education courses I have to take each month for work.  This month there are three of them, so it's good to get a little bit done.
After that, I watched Survivor and relaxed before heading to bed, and back to work the next day.  It was a nice day off!

Hey mari! I missed you and am trying to catch up with everyone. Sounds like a great day off you had. I love seeing that road with the trees lined on each side. Can't wait to see the fall colors. I read a while back Heather got engaged. Congratulations to her!! Can't wait to read more about the wedding planning.

Sounds like a relaxing, but productive day! How nice to treat your hubby to a favorite meal! I always make more meatloaf than I know we'll eat because I LOVE meatloaf sandwiches :) That bonnet is absolutely precious; what a thoughtful gift!

12-hour days.....How do you do it?

I loved that little bonnet! That was a sweet thing to do and get from your blogger friend.

Our trees are really turning. I took some pictures yesterday. I hope that the sun shines sometime this month to show the glorious colors of the leaves.

Thanks for sharing and for the smiles..I am afraid our trees/leaves have already peaked..I noticed yesterday how dull they look now and their leaves falling as well.I am going to make meatloaf tomorrow. Blessings

Wow you crammed a lot of pleasure, industry, nature, happiness, education, glamour, culinary joy, and lovely surprises into that one day, Mari. Well done you. And TG's eyes would light up if he saw (and smelled) meatloaf and scalloped potatoes for his supper. You my friend are the total package. xoxo
