Our room re-do

We've been working on redecorating a room for several weeks.  This room was Heathers bedroom at one time.  Lately it's been a craft/office/general catch-all room.  It's also where we had a crib for Alaina and her toys.  It's not a big room, and it needed organizing, plus it was badly in need of a new look!

Here's a picture to show you what it looked like before.  (Excuse the mess on the table.  I didn't think about taking a picture until I had started to take everything down and stack it there.)
The walls were a pale blue, with the flowery border.
That border was terrible to take down, it came off in little shreds!

This was taken after the wall was painted.  Here you can see the carpet that used to be in there, along with some lingering wallpaper shreds!

The carpet is gone and Bob is installing the new flooring.

Here's one side of the room now.  This armoire holds office and craft supplies.  See that cute clock?  I wish it showed up better on this picture.  I still need to find something else to hang on the wall and to put on the top of the armoire.

Here's the other side of the room.  I knew I wanted gray and white in this room, but hadn't decided on an accent color until Bonnie showed her inspiration photo with gray, white and red.  I found the reg shag rug and the red pillow, but I still need to find a few other red accents.
The toddler bed is perfect for Alaina to sleep in, and we also brought in the little rocking chair that I found in an antique store last year.

I'm not done with this either, but the bottom bins hold toys, the next shelf has bins with different blocks and toy collections.  It's nice to have all the kid books together too.

These old oil lamps came from Bob's mom, and the game board was one Bob played with as a kid.  The mason jar holds old buttons.

This 6 foot shelf is over the bed.  It has some of Bob's carvings and awards, and I thought the red B was a nice touch.  I need to add to it though!
This is the room that I showed the closet of last week.  We're still working on that system, but otherwise this room is nearly done!

Wow! It looks great! What a transformation!

I have a wallpaper border that needs to come down in the family room. I'm dreading it!

I love grey and the red looks great with it!

I'm so excited!!! Love every inch of it. The white armoire and shelves are perfect! Did you make the valance? I love the gray you chose. It's perfect with the white. That baby girl is going to enjoy it so much. Isn't wallpaper a pain? Ugh! I love the shelf with Bob's things and the RED B! So, Bob the Builder is really a builder. You go, girl! I'd put him to work all the time. The floor looks great! You'll figure out what to put on the chest. Stack some books, use some baskets, research pinterest. I'm still not ready for my reveal. Still got to get a rug.BTW, Love your rug and pillow. I still got to find a red one.

So really Alaina has her own room when she stays. How cute. Has she seen it yet? You did a great job, and it's a real transformation.

This is turning out really cool. However, do you realize you just did your room in Ohio State colors? Being from MI that might matter to you!;>)
What about a red throw for the bottom of the bed. I keep one on both beds and on chairs in the living room. That way, it's an easy 'snuggle' for a quick or spontaneous nap.
We need to redo my office/studio. Furniture was just put in there and they don't necessarily fit my needs or the personality of the room.

You've really transformed the room. Love it. The red accents tie at all in. Very tasteful.

What a great job of transforming the room. Everything looks so fresh and nice, and the red just made the room 'pop' as they say on HGTV! Have a great day and thanks for sharing.

Doesn't it feel good to finish a project like this?! It looks wonderful, Mari! We are so happy we got rid of carpet in our bedrooms and replaced it with vinyl wood-like planks. It makes such a difference. I love the red accents! Alaina will love staying in that room when she visits!

Oh, Mari, It looks beautiful! I love gray and white because it looks so clean and orderly.

I have been thinking and thinking about how I could change my kitchen into gray and white. I haven't figured it out yet. Too much work, for one thing.

Well I am impressed. That is truly gorgeous. What were we thinking with all that wallpaper border in years gone by? It's truly a pain to remove. Never again, I say. Now as to the gray with white and red accents. Bravo! Audrey recently painted her bedroom and bath in French gray (well, her dad painted it, haha) and it's so calming. I especially love your grouping on the top shelf of the armoire, and the shelf with Bob's figures and the big B. Awesome. xoxo
