A day in my life...

Can you believe it's July already?  Summer is going too quickly.  Anyway - as I've done the last few months, I'm going to share my first day of the month.  The last few have been days at work, but today was a day off for me.  Here's what I did.

One of my favorite things about a day off, is not having to set the alarm, and being able to have a slow start to the morning. I was having a leisurely morning, and so was Oliver!

We had a huge storm last night.  This morning was beautiful though!  The temperatures had dropped, there was a nice breeze and the sun was shining.  I walked in the yard and checked to see how our flowers did after the storm.  They were drooping a bit, but were ok.

~~~
I had 2 coupons that were for $10 off a $10 purchase, plus a 15% off coupon at Kohls.  They expired at the end of the week, so I thought I better get out today, since I'm working the rest of the week.
Here's my bargains:
 A good friend just found out she's going to be a Grandma for the first time.  She is so excited!  I found this cute little outfit to give her.
I've been looking for a red accent pillow for a room we're redoing.  This one is perfect!  (What do you think Bonnie?)
My next stop was this cute fruit/veggie place.  They have the best strawberries and I picked up a few quarts.
~~~
I stopped at the grocery store after this.  As I was walking to the entrance, I saw an elderly woman trip and fall off the curb.  I was worried about a broken hip or arm, but she was able to move without pain so I and another man who stopped helped her up.  She scraped her arm and forehead, so we took her back into the store for a little bandaging.  Her daughter then took her home and I did a little shopping.
~~
I mentioned the room we're redoing.  We're working on a closet system in it also.

Bob started on the system last night, so I spent some time sorting and cleaning things out, before putting them in the closet.

Then it was time to make supper.  This is the beginning of baked chimichangas.

After supper I headed out to my weekly Bible study.  We're doing Beth Moore's study of Revelations.  If you ever have a chance to do one of her studies, you should do it - you won't regret it!

That's it for today!  It's 10:00.  I think I'll check facebook and a few blogs before heading to bed.  Thanks for sharing my day.

I love Oliver! What a cutie. Your flowers are so pretty. I thought of Bonnie when I saw your pretty red pillow! Glad you had a nice day off. Have a restful night.

I have seen some of Beth Moore's books in thrift stores (where I buy most of my books) but have never read one. I think I will buy and read the next one I see. Sounds like you had a very nice day. Enjoy the rest of the week.

It looks as though you had a very busy but interesting day and you certainly got lots done! The veggie and fruit place looks beautiful, what a lovely place to visit. xx

Sounds like a perfect day off! I've always wondered about the closet organization stuff. Is it easy to install?
That fruit and veg. mart looks great! There was one near our home in Cinci that we frequently bought from. There is nothing like it here. We have the Farmers' Market, but the produce is limited this time of year. No strawberries. :>(
I like how you share the day with us. :>)

You had a good day off, even tho you were on the go. Mmmmm on the strawberries; I love the time of year they are out. Your flowers are lovely and didnt seem to be harmed; Oliver is a cutie and doing what I enjoy doing! Beth Moore has some really good books and studies and Revelation would be my favorite. That book can be confusing, but it also can reveal what is to come. Have a great day!

If this is a day off, I'd like to see your day at work. My goodness you got a lot done. And love Oliver's relaxed style.

I love these posts, Mari! You got some nice finds at Kohl's, don't you love shopping there? I was just thinking how cheap things get there when they have clearance sales and you can use coupons. My daughter had on an outfit yesterday that cost $2 total!

You don't lay around on your day "off" to you. I love the picture of Oliver.

Looks like you had a great day! Yes, I love the pillow! You should have picked me up one too:) JK. So you have a baby kitty too. Callie needs a playmate. We aren't letting her go outside because the fleas are so bad and she is not a happy camper. I haven't had a chance to get fresh anything. I want some tomatoes. Beth Moore is my FAVORITE Bible teacher. I need to do a study. You had a very productive day. Good for you! I'm waiting on pictures.

Oliver is precious! Mari, I would have loved being with you as you went about your day! Happy to hear the woman who fell wasn't hurt too badly!!

What a productive day. I haven't a fourth of your energy, Mari. I would've hung out with Oliver, drinking coffee and reading, then maybe done a load of laundry before walking around in the yard. See, I'm lazy and unmotivated!!! xoxo

What a great picture of Oliver! I'm sorry to hear about the elderly lady who fell. Last week I was at Giant's Causeway and an elderly man fell about 4 feet off of the rocks. I fear he did some real damage to his back :(

Love your flower pictures! Always. :)
I'm not a revelation fan. I'm stalling in the late chapters of "beloved disciple"

Well, Mari, I don't have this blog bookmarked. That was an enjoyable read. I'll have to mark it tonight when I get home. I love Oliver. Have a happy July!
