Oh Christmas Tree...

My friend Kayren did a post last week with some of her favorite and treasured ornaments.
I thought I would share some of my favorites with you today.

I've noticed that many of them are hand made and I'm starting with some we've made fairly recently.
This is a neat beaded ornament done by Heather. I told here I would love a bunch of these!

Of course I have to include some of Bob's Santa ornaments.

I love each one of them!

I've made several different angels for the tree.

This cute little tree was made by Andy when he was 7. The front of it has all different stamps on it, but I love the writing on the back!

My Mom had this one personalized for us in 1996. Now that she is gone, I treasure it more!

This is another one made by Andy, using a pine cone, a milk weed, a golf tee and a wooden ball. He made this one when he was in first grade.

My sister-in-law Jan made me two of these about 20 years ago. This one is Heather and we also have one of Laura. Jan was legally blind and cross stitched these, sitting by a machine that enlarged things enough that she could see them. The fact that she put this work into them makes them special, but she passed away 2 years ago so now they are also a nice reminder of her.

This little bell was made by Laura in Sunday School when she was in Kindergarten.

This ornament is clear, so is hard to read, but it says:
First Christmas Together
1981
It's from the year we were married.

This is our oldest ornament.
The first time I met Bob's sisters the family was staying at a cottage in the summer. His sister Karla was working on some ornaments that were going to be sold at a bazaar. I helped her make some and we laughed because we thought they were so ugly!
She got the last laugh when she bought one and gave it to me for Christmas. It's been hanging on our Christmas tree every year since!

Good Evening Mari Sweetie...
What a beautiful share tonight. I love seeing ornaments from each of our trees. So many different styles, but yet all from our hearts. I love, love these.

The carved Santa really captured my heart. I love the detail on these.

Of course we all love these that are precious kidlings made. They will forever hold a place in our hearts. I love them. Your angel is exquisite.

Love that Christmas tree of Andys. Now that is a keeper.

The ornament your Momma had made for you is precious. I love the little reindeers with you and Bob as elves. That one is SO special. Your Momma would be so happy to know the joy and comfort it has given you sweetie.

Thank you for sharing this evening. I have so enjoyed my visit. Many hugs and SO much love, Sherry

We, too, have a clear ornament similarly to yours that states 1981!

Your tree is special because of the ornaments and the sentiment it holds. I also have ornaments that were made by the kids and myself. They will always be treasured.

The santas are awesome!

What great memories ornaments bring back! Steve and I love looking at our tree and talking about the ornaments and memories. He has told the kids they cannot take their ornaments when they leave! Then he amended that and said O.K. one a year after you leave. He loves them too! BTW one of Bob's now hangs proudly on our tree as well!!!

Love the ornaments!

Our precious, handmade ones are in a box -- for now. I have a set of eggshell ornaments that my mom made a long, long time ago. She's surprised I still have them. JS's ornaments will come out as we get closer to Christmas.

The most ornate store bought ornaments can't compare to the beauty of those given or made by those we love!
They are all beautiful and just the sort of ornaments I love to see on a tree!

What special ornaments! I love that they all have such special memories. Since Christmastime is also vacation time here in our country, I never got any ornaments from the kids (that they made in school).
Loved seeing yours.

I love how ornaments tell as story in a way. This is fun to see.

Those are all so special but I'm partial to the last one! The memory it provides is so great! I don't have any ornaments I've made myself, and none of mine go all the way back to before kids. But each one is special in its own way ... including the wood-carved-look angel wings I bought for fifty cents at Dollar General just today!
