Simple Things

A few days ago, Simone over at Chocolate Covered Daydreams did a post on Simple Things. It's a good idea to be reminded of how many simple things bring us joy. However, this post did even more. She had linked to another Simple Things post at Christines blog. Christine and her family are giving a dollar for every simple things post that links to her, to Doctors without borders. This will help, not only those in Haiti, but in other places where medical care is not easily obtained. So, here's my list. Feel free to join us!

  • a breeze on a hot summer day
  • sunshine in the winter
  • snow covered pine trees
  • a baby laughing
  • the smell of fresh cut grass
  • a clean house
  • warm, comfy slippers
  • the first flowers in the spring
  • clean sheets on my bed
  • having my family all together
  • hearing a favorite song on the radio
  • the smell of baking bread
  • a smile from one of my residents
  • laughter
And that's just a few!

I have clean sheets and music on my list, too. Isn't this idea of Christina's such fun? I love how many of us are roaming the blogroads stopping to say hello here and there. So, hello to you. Happy almost-Friday.

What a wonderful idea and way to use the world of blogging to increase support to the most needy.

We are so blessed with all things, great and small, and it's good to take time to remind ourselves of each and every blessing HE give us and blesses us with.

I can sit and listen to a baby or toddler for that matter giggling all day long. It's contagious.

Happy Friday Mari.

One of my favorite simple things is taking a long walk, alone, at night. So serene.

Love this post, Mari! Simple things bring us so much joy, and it surely was a joy reading your list. Most of it would be on my list too!

....Mari, the Golden Fronted Woodpecker is found only in Texas and the lower part of Oklahoma. Mostly, they're Old Mexico and the Caribbean/Central American bird. That's why it was a 'kodak moment' yesterday.

Oh, what a good post...precious thoughts, too.
My simple things:
* my little ones singing to Jesus the made up songs they write to Jesus
* my hubs telling me I am beautiful first thing in the morning
* the smell of my worn out Bible
* the purring kitty sitting in my lap in the quiet morning hours as I talk to Jesus
* the perfect love that casts out fear...simple, but profound.

I really enjoy your posts. Right now, in North Carolina, I am enjoying the snow we got last night. I have made sure the birds have food and am enjoying watching them flutter in to get their dinner. They need to learn to share better!! LOL

Love it! It's the simple things that mean the most, yet it's the simple things we forget the most...

Most of the most beautiful things in our lives are 'the simple things'!! Wonderful list.
