It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

We had a very unusual November this year.  It was warmer than usual and we only had one day where we had a dusting of snow.  This past Thursday night we got our first real snowstorm and it came with a vengeance!  The interesting thing is that while it snowed all over West Michigan, our little town and one just to the North of us got most of the snow.  The surrounding area's got between 2 and 6 inches of snow.  We got 11 1/2 inches in less than 11 hours!
It was quite a drive in to work the next morning, as I was following a few tracks in the road and praying that I didn't meet anyone.  I made it though - on time and in one piece!

This picture was taken on the patio at work. This poor little tree was being covered by all that snow!

This is a picture of a neighbors farm.  It reminded me of an old Currier and Ives painting.
Although I'm not a fan of driving in the snow, it truly is beautiful!

Mari,
Take extra special care in the snow.

Could you please send it my way. I am still longing for a beautiful winter wonderland.

Blessings, andrea

Hubby told me he thought you got about 10 inches of lake effect snows. We've had a few flurries, and by flurries, I mean sparse.

It does look so pretty, we don't have any here yet. I think we're supposed to get some snow in the next couple of days. As pretty as it looks, I still dread going out in it, but I would like a white Christmas!

Mari, it's beautiful! I don't like driving in it either. Be careful and keep the pictures coming. I think that that will be the closest I get to being near snow this winter.

It was a beautiful calm friday! I loved seeing the trees in my back yard covered in snow like Narnia!

For me.....driving in the snow was the worst...where I came from, North Denver in the mountains...the drive was treacherous and the other drivers were maniacs! LOLOL I love the snow....IN PICTURES only now. That farm scene is 'to die for'.

Oh, and if you ever get a chance to snap a photo of your nesting dolls, I'd love to see them on your blog sometime!!

I just wanted to thank ya for poppin' in and leaving your sweet comment. I'm back from south Texas where it was cold, like highs in the forty's. That's what an Ozarks chick gets when she rubs in the fact that I was headed south where the sand is warm and the water is inviting. Sooooo NOT!

Have a beautifully blessed day. I've hit the ground running...haven't even started Christmas yet. {SIGH} I'm only eleven days behind schedule. Gotta run.........

How beautiful!!! A lot of my family live in Michigan--Traverse City, Mesick, Cadillac, and Detroit area. Have fun in the snow--and be safe and WARM!

Thoroughly enjoy looking at your photos -- but not missing the snow even one little bit :-)

BTW, you've been "buttoned" with a Circle of Friends award.

Those are beautiful snow pictures! I cannot believe how many inches you got and did I hear that a bigger storm is coming your way?

Beautiful pictures. But not nice to drive in, is it.

Wow! I wish we could get some of the white stuff! That does look like a painting! I love both pictures. So pretty and so peaceful.

I really don't like the snow. And I'm so GLAD we have not gotten ANY yet. Although it is cold and windy :/ I really hope it doesn't come... Neither of our vehicles have snow tires yet, and frankly we don't have the money for 'em.

Wow, that's A LOT of snow in a short period of time. Craziness! Beautiful pictures....I especially love the one of the farm.

We (northern New Hamshire) finally got a few inches of snow on Sunday, and we're expecting a big storm tomorrow. Usually we have at least a foot on the ground by this time of year, so winter is a little slow getting started this year.

Hi Mari,

So glad you stopped by my blog and watched the video. I'm glad Heidi shared the link with you!
I have enjoyed visiting your blog. That Christmas mix with the cereal and white chocolate looks soooo good! I am convinced there is a conspiracy in the blogosphere today to make me gain serious weight. I keep seeing such yummy recipes. *sigh*
Anyway, I had to stop and comment on this post. I live in Michigan, too. Mid-Michigan actually, just east of Lansing. And though I love to look out the window at the snow, I am totally with you on the driving. My husband is from Holland, and his mom still lives there - so we get plenty of opportunity to "enjoy" the lake-effect snow, too.
Here's to happy memories of the sunny, warm days of summer!

It really does look beautiful, but I would hate to drive in it too. Having not seen the snow for some 11 years now it has a very magical quality for me.

You must be busy getting things together for Christmas now - not long until your son is home too. Yay!
