Works for Me Wednesday

This may be a tip that many of you already use, but it works so well that I'm sharing it for anyone who hasn't tried it.
When making cookies, use a small melon scooper to scoop the dough onto the cookie sheet. The one I use is from Pampered Chef, but they are all about the same size. It makes it easy to scoop the dough and the cookies turn out nicely shaped and uniformly sized.
For cupcakes or muffins, a large melon scooper is just the right size to fill the muffin tin. It's easier and doesn't drip like other spoons do.

I've never tried this even though I've heard it's great. Then again I don't own a rubber spatula or a whisk. I'm so in the stone age.

I haven't tried a melon scooper - but I often you an ice cream scooper for serving of veggies for the kids... it works great. I will have to try the melon scooper technique too!

I think I've seen this done before...but you've reminded me. We don't have one of those scoopers perhaps we should get one...maybe I'll get Jeff one for his Christmas present...to encourage him to make more cookies! hehe

I love my Pampered Chef scooper so much that I posted the same WFMW about it sometime back. If the recipe says 28 cookies, the small Pampered Chef scoop will make exactly 28 cookies. I bake a lot for Christmas and the cookies are big enough, but not enormous. It is also nice that they come out a uniform size, so they are easy to box as gifts.

Have a great day!

I love my cookie scoops. And I love that they come in several sizes so I can adjust the size of the cookie.

Mari,

Great tips for both cookies and muffins. This will also keep me from messing up the outside of my muffin tins with batter too!

absolutely agree! I wouldn't make cookies without my scoop. I use an ice cream scoop to make monster size cookies...so much easier!

the theory behind it is fabulous...but that means i'll just have to eat more of them to get my fill. hmm, that's not a bad idea either!

I have 2 of those scoops and use them every time I make cookies. I love them. I got them so that it would be easier for the kids to help.

What a great tip. I´ll have to get one of those scooper´s. I don´t have one yet, and it looks a lot cleaner, than using a spoon....
