Tuesday was a tough day for our family. We had to put our cat to sleep. She has never been a skinny cat so when she started losing weight we were concerned. After taking her to the vet and having blood work done, we found out her kidneys were failing, and there was really nothing that could be done for her. In the past week she has really slowed down and we knew what we had to do.
Heather has always considered Cleo to be "her" cat.

One of my favorite pictures of her.
Cleo was part of our family for over 8 years and was well loved. She will be missed.

Oh, no! I am so very sorry. That is tough. I have had do to it more times than I care to think of. It doesnt get any easier, because animals are so much a part of our family...but allowing them to go with some dignity and peace and knowing they are at rest helps a bit. You are in my prayers.
So sorry Mari. It must have been so difficult for your family. Such a pretty cat. I pray that she feels peace now. I send my hugs to you:)
That would be so hard! They so become a part of the family! I will probably need counseling when Champ dies! Big hugs to you guys!
Oh my, that is so sad! I know that Cleo will be missed. Every time you pass by the chair where Cleo slept, you will look at it and feel empty. I will pray for you.
I'm bawling...literally. The tears just flowed. So, so sad. I send hugs your way.
Oh shoot- what a way to start my day- I'm bawling over here. I love that last picture of her.
She was such a sweet cat- she will be hugely missed!
I'm so sorry for you guys. I would be so lost without my cat. I know I'm going to need her when Jenna moves to Texas next month.
I'm so sorry about Cleo. It's hard when we lose someone that we love and a family member....Kae

Oh no! I am so sorry Mari. We had our first dog for 13 years and we had to have her put down from liver failure. That was the hardest phone call and vet visit I have ever had. Pets are family too and losing them is hard. Sending you a big hug!
we have had our cat for 12 years and i know that we must be prepared for this kind of thing but its never easy. i'm sorry again for your loss. cats are wonderful family friends.
Awww, that's so sad. I know what it feels like to lose a pet you love, no new pet can replace them in your memory and heart, but sometimes it helps you to make new memories.
My husband has decided that when he is so old that a new pet would probably out live him, then he'll get another one because its just to hard to say goodbye.
i'm sorry :(
I'm so sorry. My heart goes out to you and your family. Prayers and hugs to you all.
What a beautiful kitty! It is never easy when a pet goes, is it? What a blessing they are to us. I'm sure she will be missed.
Oh crap Mari!! I am so sorry, I am sitting here crying, you know my love for cats. My Annie is 11yrs and slowing down . . .((((hugs)))
Praying for Heather and your whole family:(
oh Mari, I am so sorry...I can so appreciate how difficult it must have been for you. Know that you gave her a wonderful, loving home. My thoughts are with you.
How sad! Saying goodbye to a pet is SO HARD. Poor Heather especially. But you did what you had to do; you certainly didn't want your precious kitty to suffer needlessly.
aw :( so sad. Cleo was beautiful!
This was not good to read before I go to work. I love that last picture of her - what a little cutie. I know it's still hard - pets are part of the family! Still thinking of you all.
Mari, I'm so sorry! I love that bottom picture. So sweet. Being a fellow cat lover, I know how they become a part of your family.
that is so very sad for you and your family. I'm sorry. :( Big hugs.
