The box and Oliver

We got a package the other day and as usual, Oliver felt he needed to investigate. He just loves boxes!

First, you check out the edges.

Then you have to head right in.

"Are you looking at me?"

"Oh fine - I'm coming out"

"But - if you turn the box over, I'll jump right in!"

Crazy, Cute Cat!

Our cat, Oliver has a strange fascination with this little canvas bag I use to carry my lunch and a book to work every day. No matter where I put it, he finds it and lays on it. He usually put his head on the handle, or even through the handle.
Here he was laying on it, on the table and although he isn't supposed to be there, I can only blame myself for leaving my bag out!
I could see he was getting sleepy so I snapped a few pictures as he started to relax...

and get tired...

and finally give in...

and take a little "catnap"!

Oliver

You may remember that back in June we got a new kitten. He's gotten big and we are still enjoying having him around, in spite of his naughty tendencies!

This picture was taken the first night we had him. We've noticed he still likes to crawl into things. I've got a few pictures to share showing you some of the places we find him.

If Bob leaves the door to his armoire open, we often find Oliver sitting inside.

Any boxes sitting around? Oliver will crawl in them!

Now that coat season is here, he has become fascinated with Heather's coat. She had it laying over the back of a chair and he dragged it down and crawled into the sleeve.

This is our half bath. We find Oliver sitting in this wastebasket regularly. When I took this picture, he was actually sitting here in the dark.

Oliver gets visitors

Our daughter Laura stopped over Saturday with their 2 dogs, Sophie and Reminton. She said it was time for them to meet our cat.

You can see that Oliver isn't too happy about this idea! What you can't see is how the dogs reacted. Although they are way bigger than Oliver, they weren't going to go near him as he arched his back and hissed!

The girls decided it would work better to hold Oliver and let the dogs come up and check him.

Sophie decided Oliver wasn't so bad. Reminton still wasn't too sure and Oliver really didn't appreciate the whole situation.

Here Laura is comforting Oliver after that traumatic event! In the end, they all survived and we had fun watching them interact.

Introducing Oliver!

You may remember this post from about 3 weeks ago when I told you about having to put our cat to sleep. We had told our kids that when Cleo died, there would be no more animals in the house. After all, we have had 1 dog, 3 cats, 1 dwarf hamster and 3 fish.
However - Heather wasn't happy with that plan and Bob and I found that we were missing having a pet around, too.
So - yesterday we got this adorable little kitten!

His name is Oliver. We were listing different names when Bob mentioned that one and it just fit. He is very friendly and snuggly. We are having a lot of fun, just watching him play and explore. I have a feeling you will be seeing more pictures of him!
