Grandparents Day

Last week we were invited to Cassie's preschool for Grandparents Day. Of course, we were thrilled to be able to go!

The kids were all sitting on this mat when we arrive - all watching for their grandparents to arrive!

Once everyone was there, the teacher read a book about taking a walk and exploring with Grandpa.

Then the kids all got up and sang several songs for us.  Cassie is on the left and you can't really tell in the picture - but she wasn't singing.  There were a few other kids who weren't singing either, but there were others who were very enthusiastic.

We asked Cassie later why she didn't sing and she said "there were too many Grandpa's and Grandma's looking at us".   She's not a fan of being in the spotlight.   :)

She got to show us around her room, including her nook to store her shoes, coat and bag.

Here she is with her teacher.

And we had to get a picture of her with Grandpa and Grandma.

We got to take her home after this, but we stopped for lunch at her favorite place first.  Chik-fil-A is always good!

We were given this little memento before we left school.  What a fun day!

That's awesome! My babies have their preschool Christmas recital next week. I hope they won't be shy when the time comes, but of course, they will be adorable no matter what. :)

What a wonderful day you had. She is so cute, and I don't blame her for not wanting to sing in front of so many people.

Yeah, I couldn't sing with too many grandmas and grandpas looking at me either, so hilarious and precious, she couldn't be cuter. How nice you guys went!

Little Miss Cassie is so cute. I can understand how intimidating it might be with grandma's and grandpa's all zoomed in watching you sing. Her little outfit is so cute too. I sure wish I could have these days back of grandparent days. so special.

All you have to see is the BIGGEST smile in the photo with Gramma and Grampa. Cassie was so happy you were able to come to her class. I would have been petrified to sing in front of a group when I was in preschool. I think it shows how smart and strong and independent she is!

I just love the picture of you two and Cassie. Such love !!!
Cassie reminds me of our oldest Granddaughter at that age. She was all gung ho for events until it came time to be in front of everyone. There were melt downs and stoic faces. My how times have changed for her...
Love the memento you were given too. So Sweet.

That was so nice. What a special day. We were living in Scotland when my mom came to visit us. David was in nursery school at the time and he took his grandma to school for show and tell. :)

"Too many grandpas and grandmas looking at us." That cracked me up!!!! What a fun event! I remember lots of grandparents' days. I even went to Florida for that a time or two. But mostly it was when I was a music teacher and my classroom would be filled with those grandpas and grandmas.
