Several weeks ago I was in Grand Haven and stopped at the pier to see it in it's winter beauty. I realized I never shared those pictures with you. In the last few weeks it's been warmer and a lot of this ice has melted.
At the beach it's cold, with snow and fences covering the sand.
There were some people who are braver than me who were out on the walkway. An icy walk next to icy water doesn't look like a place I want to be.
The water was fairly calm on this day, but you can see how the ice on the light house from the waves hitting it on windy days.
Lake Michigan has a different beauty in the winter.

Wow that is gorgeous. I’ve seen some dramatic winter icy photos of Lake Michigan before. It’s like nature’s art form- with the wind from the lake, it makes ice sculptures one of a kind.
Sure looks freezing though. Brrrr
Hi Mari! Really beautiful pictures. I hope you have a great week!
Oh how beautiful! And kind of otherworldly! Each photo is stunning.
These images are fantastic indeed
Beautiful photos!
I sincerely believe some people's "porch light" is Not on! smh
Seriously cold there! It's going to bi almost 70 here today and warming up to high 70's later in the week.
Stay warm!
hugs
Donna
Beautiful but so cold! I love looking at the pancake ice when it's there!
Absolutely stunning, Mari! Thank you so much for sharing.
I have never seen such pictures! Beautiful but very cold I expect.
Snow and ice have a beauty of their own. Despite the sensations of cold and freezing, people enjoy the views.
You are right. That is a different kind of beauty for Lake Michigan. You captured wonderful photos of it all.
Beautiful! It seems so strange to see a landscape like that with snow. The Panhandle of Florida has white sand. That might look similar to this. It sure looks cold!
Wow! Ice like that can be so scary - but it sure is pretty. Almost mesmerizing to look at when it freezes the rails like that. God's artwork. ;)
Wow what gorgeous photos.
We went here in February before. The red pier against the blue is so striking. You would not catch me on there though with all of that ice. Hopefully no one falls in. Janice
Your photos are absolutely stunning, my friend! Thank you for sharing. I always enjoy my visits with you.
Beautiful pictures.
My favorite is the second one of the ice-coated rail. Just gorgeous.
Ugh it's gorgeous of course but it makes me cold just to look at it! Beautiful pictures though! xoxo
Oh, Mari!! It looks so cold and forbidding, but somehow also beautiful. Thanks for sharing the shivers with us!! Brrrrr!!!
That really is beautiful, in a bone-chilling sort of way! LOL. No, seriously, it is beautiful. I just don't think I'd want to be out there either. I'll enjoy it here from my warm spot in Florida! Thank you for sharing it with us!
How beautiful! I've never seen snow on a beach. Wow! I'm trying to start blogging again. I'd love if you'd hop over and follow me so I can follow you with just a click. Thanks.
