I thought I'd start the week with some updates to things I shared with you last week.
Thank you for your sweet notes of encouragement, and also your prayers. My blog friends are truly a blessing!
My friend Becky's funeral was Saturday. It was a wonderful time of sharing memories of her, but most of all, sharing her love of the Lord and how she wanted all her loved ones to share that joy!
I am doing much better as far as pain from the rheumatoid arthritis. The prednisone is helping. I'm now tapering down on it and am feeling some of it come back, but it's so much more tolerable than it was; walking and work is easier. I go to the specialist on the 30th, so am looking forward to his recommendations.
My dad is still sick. He was tested for Covid on Wed, but they are telling us it can take up to 7 days to get results back. I've been checking on him daily by phone, so I knew he was doing ok, but on Saturday I masked and gowned up and checked on him in person. I picked up a little machine that checks O2 sats and made sure his lungs were clear. He's still achy, still has recurrent fevers, but his lungs are ok. So I guess we just take it a day at a time. Thanks for your prayers for him, and Ann too. So far she is doing ok.

I didn't know that ultrasound can detect baby hair, that is amazing!! I am so glad your Dad's lungs are clear. I also wait to know what your specialist says. Since you are tapering odd the steroid, you really need something. I see on T.V. a lot about all these new drugs for Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Glad you are feeling better and that your dad is doing okay. Hopefully, his test will be negative. That crib is going to be beautiful!
Sounds like last week was kind of crazy for everyone. Covid is touching all of us in one way or another it seems. Hope your dad gets a negative test. I love that the crib is taking shape. Hope all continues to go well with your daughter and the new baby. Have a good week.
I am sorry you are in pain. Do you have RA? I hope your dad gets well soon. That was nice that you checked on him. I would have done the same. I hope all goes well. Is Heather your daughter. Praying all goes well!
I can wait to see the finished crib! It's good to read that you are doing better. And your father remains with clear lungs (that's good, isn't it? I really don't know all that much about covid). May you all remain safe & happy.
I'm so glad the prednisone is giving you pain relief, but I hope they find something that will give you long-term relief. My sister Mary Ellen was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis a few days ago and the actually is on Hydrochloriquine. I'll be curious if that is recommended for you.
I really hope your dad's COVID test comes back negative.
How exciting that the crib is coming along, and that grand baby will soon be arriving!
I'm glad to hear the health issues seem to be in hand. I bet your feel better having looked in and checked on your dad in person. Thoughts and prayer for safety and healing and that all goes well with Heather and the baby. It's exciting to prepare for the little one coming and it's great to see the guys preparing too. I hope you continue to keep the pain at bay so you can work in greater comfort.
So glad to hear the better news and hope the specialist will have something to help. Wonderful that the men are making the crib, makes it so special.

I'm sorry to hear about your dad, Mari. I will keep him in my prayers...and you, too. I can only imagine how exhausting this all must be. I really thought that after this spring, when things were so terrible here in NY, that this thing would evaporate, that that was the worst of it. It's so upsetting to see what's happening now. I feel for folks like you, in the health field. It's a terrible burden on top of an already taxing job. Please take care.
Ugh! Your poor dad. I pray rest and comfort and healing for him, and good spirits for both him and Ann.
That baby is going to be just the CUTEST! Can't wait to see him/her and rejoice with you.
