Cooking Thursday

We usually have buns or sandwiches of some sort on Sunday night.  This past Sunday I made something I hadn't made for some time, a recipe my mom got from my aunt.  It's a hot sandwich you can put in the crockpot to keep warm.  It has only 3 ingredients and is very easy to throw together, especially if you have chicken pre-cooked.

Hot Chicken Sandwiches

4 cups cooked, shredded chicken
1 can cream of celery soup
1 teaspoon seasoned salt

Stir all ingredients together, then heat and serve on buns.

Love this idea, Mari! We always eat our evening meal on Sundays after we are back in from evening church services so I like to keep it on the easy and light side. This would fit the bill perfectly! Thanks so much for sharing!

Mmmm, sounds really good, especially if you have some leftover chicken that needs to be used. Will have to give this a try.

What can be easier. I have some shredded chicken in the freezer. I may just try this for dinner over the weekend.

Mari, if you like this, you must try Crack Chicken. It's addictive (hence the name). All you do is put 2-3 pounds of boneless, skinless chicken breasts into the crock pot. Add two 8-ounce blocks of full-fat Philadelphia Cream Cheese and one packet of dry Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix. Cook on low setting for 6-8 hours or high setting for 4-6 hours. As the chicken softens, start breaking it up, doing this every so often until it's entirely shredded and everything is incorporated. This is so good, you won't believe. xoxo

I just bought some chicken today. I think I will try this. I read Jenny's comment and I think I will try hers also. By Saturday I should be sick of chicken. Hahahahahaha!
