Weekend wedding

One of the young guys Bob works with got married on Saturday afternoon and we had the privilege of attending the wedding. They had a country type theme, and used snow and trees as part of the decorations.  The invitations were on dark blue paper with black tree silhouettes and snow falling.  The front of the church had small trees with sparkly white lights.  Here's a few pictures from the day.

This sign was at the back of the church where we came in.

This was a unique way of lighting the room that was used for the reception.  This is a large tree branch, strung with lights and hung upside down!

They had 4 of them hung up and it looked nice when you could see the whole thing.  Bob said they had to get a lift into the building to hang them up.  :)

They used stamped pieces of wood to number the tables.  They also had pieces of wood with slits cut into them, where the put name cards to show the seating arrangements.

Here's one of the centerpieces.

We had chili, baked potatoes, cornbread, soup and salad to eat.  Then, instead of cake, we had cheesecake!

Aren't these beautiful?  Such a variety of flavors and all were made by the bride and her mom!

What a nice evening it was. I like the way people personalize their weddings now!

I also like the way people personalize their weddings....location, theme, etc. I bet that was beautiful. The cheesecakes look fantastic...the bride has the knack for sure. Hope the upcoming week will be good to you!

Oh how lovely, Mari!!! What a lovely reception..

I have a wreath and put lights on that and hubby hung it above the dining table, there is no way to put a light above the table---so he improvised. It works...smiles

What great ideas for the tables and lighting! The cheesecake buffet is also wonderful! I agree with you regarding how weddings are so tailored to the bride and groom these days. Makes it much more personal and fun.

I love this! The lights make me think of icicles. Perfect with the theme. I want to do my wedding over again.

Such a cool wedding! I love the pretty trees and lights. So pretty with all the dark blue I bet. And I love that their menu was so homey and yummy - and those cheesecakes!! Wow!! Did I ever mention cheesecake is one of my Annie's favorite foods on the planet? Lol May need to remember that idea for her wedding some day. ;)
Blessings on the week ahead dear Mari!! xoxo

I do too! The weddings reflect more of the bride and groom now. Not so cookie-cutter like when our generation got married :) I also like the different style of photography that captures more natural moments with the couple, and fun (often hilarious!) poses of the wedding party.

So much creativity out there now! I wonder how we would do our weddings if we were to get married today? :)
