Weekend Celebrations!

We had some celebrations this weekend.  It was Bob's birthday on the 9th, so Saturday night we celebrated Bob's birthday and Fathers Day.

Alaina stayed overnight on Friday night and was my helper on Saturday.  She was quite proud of the cake after she put  the sprinkles on.  She walked around the room showing everyone how pretty her cake was.

She also helped get apples ready for apple pie.  She was very excited to use the apple peeler/corer/slicer, and kept telling me "I can do that for you Grandma!"  She turned the handle, and I did the cutting.  We make a good team.  :)

We had my Dad and stepmom over for dinner on Fathers Day.  He had been sick for a few weeks prior, but is now feeling well.  We had a nice time together and that pie was delicious!

I'm so happy to hear your dad is better and that you all enjoyed a double celebration! Alaina can certainly be proud of 'her' beautifully sprinkled cake! I used to have one of those apple peelers from Pampered Chef. Not sure what happened to it, unless it went in a garage sale.

Great photos. Alaina is adorable.

Finally came and checked on blogland. Loved this one, especially the interaction with Alaina. What blessed children your grands are with grandparents like you guys.

Mmmmm I can smell and taste that apple pie -- lots of cinnamon, I hope -- and Alaina is right: That was some cake. I love how she enjoys life. It's good to see your dad feeling well. xoxo

I know that phrase well, "I can do that for you Mumma! I can help with that Mumma!" She has such a helpers heart, not to mention she loves to get her hands in things. Love that picture of Grandpa and Anne too - they're so cute!
