Having your cake and eating it too

This weekend we got to go to a birthday party. It was Bob's great nephews first birthday.
He enjoyed the presents, especially the paper and the boxes.
Eating the cake though - that was fun!

He got his own little cake to eat. His Mom was smart and took his shirt off!

"Hmmm - this tastes pretty good."

"I'm really getting into this piece of cake!"

"Yum!"

When was the last time you enjoyed eating something this much?

  5. Love that! Jon's first cake had blue icing too, but I think we just had a bib on him and pulled up his sleeves. That was ten years ago...almost makes me sad.

  12. He's so cute! There have been times I would have loved to eat cake like that, but I will have to wait a few years. It's only allowed when you are very young and very very old! I will leave my shirt on though if I ever do it!

  15. I don't know what you did when your kids had birthday cake but I was so careful that they did not get messy. I would never let them put their little fingers in the cake. I realize now I kept them from having alot of fun. Sorry about that. Young Moms and Dads are so much more laid back these days. I love it!

  17. OK ... is that the "little" cake or did he go through that one and start on the big one?

  18. I always made beautiful cakes for my children for their birthdays. We usually had family in so we never gave the birthday child the entire cake. They had to share it with everyone. I never thought of making an extra cake just for them. I doubt that they would have eaten it anyway....well, maybe chad would have. Hahaha! It would have had to be chocolate!
