Works for me Wednesday

It's blueberry time here. I love fresh blueberries, but I also like to have some in the freezer when I can't get the fresh ones. Most of you probably already know this tip, but just in case someone doesn't, I'm sharing this tip.
To freeze blueberries, wash them and let them dry. Then, lay them in a single layer on a pan and freeze. Once they are all frozen, you can place them in a freezer bag. You can freeze any berries using this method. By doing it this way, they freeze individually and are easy to measure out for recipes.

Thanks for this tip, although we don't get too many fresh berries in our country. The strawberries grow up in the mountains.

Thanks too for continuing to pray for Matthew.

By the way, I think I will go back to your Awards post and take the Circle of Friends award for myself.

Thanks for letting me have it! I really enjoy the circle of friendship that find myself in. It's a warm and caring circle.

Blessings on your day.

Love

I'm glad you're freezing blueberries instead of those crunchy berries that Betsy was freezing the other day...ick!

I do the same thing with chick peas and kidney beans. It's so easy to throw a few beans into a salad that way.

Great idea, Mari. I also like musicaljean's idea as well.....just take out what you need.

yum on the blueberries; I didn't know that tip on how to freeze them, but it makes sense so they don't clump together :)

Yummy blueberries. I am already thinking blueberries and pie and smoothies and perhaps in pancakes and fruit salad and well can you send me some???

Blueberries are just so amazing and one of the things I am thankful for God for providing for all of us to enjoy.

Great tip. I recently learned you can do this with peppers, too. Cut them into rings or slices, freeze them on a cookie sheet and then bag.

Musicaljean - do you cook the beans first? I guess that's obvious, but just checking. :)

Mari,

Blueberries are in season here as well. I love them. Each year the boys and I go blueberry picking and freeze some for the winter. Not sure about this year. Their parents are on vacation. Hopefully there will still be berries to pick next week.

Blessings,
Mary
