Cassie spends the night!

We had Cassie overnight this weekend,  She's 7 1/2 months old now and is such a happy baby.  She smiles all the time.  The only time she fussed was when she was very tired and wouldn't stop moving to let herself fall asleep.
When we got her to our house, we went outside to try and get some photos of her.

I told you she smiles all the time - but when the camera comes out, she looks at it and doesn't smile!  I'll keep trying!

We sat on the porch for awhile.  She was busy looking around and checking everything out.

When she gets tired, she sucks her thumb, and holds that hand with her other hand.

She loves to see the baby in the mirror.

Here she is with that sweet smile.

She spent some time playing on the floor with Grandpa.

She slept good - up for 30 minutes in the night for a bottle, and then I got her up at 9!

She army crawls and rolls all over now.  I left her to pack some things in the car and found her under the chair in the living room.

We went to my Dad and stepmoms house to set up meds for him.  They were so happy to see her!

Here she is with Ann.  She loves the grandkids and couldn't wait to get her hands on Cassie.

Great Grandpa was awfully happy to see her too.  She gave them both lots of smiles.

Then it was time to go home.  Her Mom and Dad were happy to have her back and we'll look forward to the next time.

Cooking Thursday

Todays recipe is good one for hot summer days.  It's a pasta salad that a friend brought to a work potluck several years ago.  I shared it then, but it's still a favorite over here so I thought I'd share it again!

Broccoli Bacon Pasta Salad

3 cups mayonnaise
3/4 cup sugar
5 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1 box rotini pasta
1 head broccoli
1 small red onion, chopped
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
8-10 slices bacon, cooked and chopped

Stir together mayonnaise, sugar and red wine vinegar.  Place into refrigerator to cool.
Cook pasta as directed on package, drain and rinse with cool water.
Cut broccoli florets from stems and separate into small pieces.
Stir broccoli, onion, bacon and cheese together.  Add pasta, then stir in mayonnaise mix.
Refrigerate overnight before serving.
