We had a fun evening with Cassie and Connor last weekend. You may remember that Connor has had a very hard time being away from his parents, so being with just us has been a rare occasion. However, he's been doing better and this night went very well!
We started with some McDonalds for supper.
After supper, Cassie and I worked on a little craft. We made Super hero capes from t-shirt and glued designs on the back. We did one for Connor too, so he didn't feel left out. We left them to dry for a while.
Then we took a walk down the road to see the horses.
We took along apple slices to feed the horses.
When we gave one to Connor, he ate it himself, instead of feeding the horses! (Isn't that cap cute?)
We got back home and played on the swingset
Connor decided this toy wheelbarrow was perfect for sitting in
and good for riding in too!
Cassie was collecting acorns
Connor likes this little guy in our flower bed and thinks it's him. He calls him Bubby, which is his nickname.
The capes we made earlier were now dry and ready to be tried on.
Connor wasn't thrilled, it got in his way and he just wanted to play!
Cassie loved it! She was running and having fun with the cape twirling. Here she was asking Grandpa to show her how to fly. :)
Such a fun night! I think Grandpa and Grandma had the most fun though!

Aww this post warms my heart and makes me smile. I remember when Cassie couldn't stay the whole night with her cousins a few years back. Conner is so cute with the hat and funny he thinks that statue is him. Very precious memories of Cassie and her granddad! Very sweet post!
Such a fun time!! The photo of grampa walking with Connor and Cassie is just precious. I would frame it! And I think those capes are pretty fabulous!
Dear Mari, your photos are sweet and heartwarming 💖 💕
What a beautiful time spent together. And feeding apples to the horses 🐎 was a special moment.
I am glad Conner stayed - he just needed to grow up a little bit - and now he knows how much fun it is. You and grandpa stay with them the whole time and play. That is so cool.
My favorite photos are the beautiful swing shots, and Granddad & Cassie flying. The capes came out so well. I remember when Cassie did not want to leave her parents either and it took quite awhile for her to spend the night with you.
Connor has also a Batman TShirt like Max and Will. They are both cute I love what you made for them. Connor is very cute with his cap. Love grandpa showing how to fly ! 😂
You sound like such sweet and lovely grandparents! The last photo especially made me smile!
This is just awesome, Mari. Thank you. smiles
Super hero caps!!!! It's official. You ARE the BEST gram in the history of ever! Love that the little boy is getting better at being away from home too. Cute little batman shirt. This was a fun post to see all the adventuring.
Oh, I LOVE this post from beginning to end! What a fun time for the grandkids, and even more fun for the grandparents, I think! They are both SO adorable, and they look so much alike! I love that Connor ate his apple for the horse, and also that he thinks the little boy statue in the garden is him. That is so sweet. I love the cape idea, even if Connor wasn't too sure about it. He enjoyed riding in the wheelbarrow more it appears. You are SO blessed to be able to enjoy these precious children so often. I am so happy for you.
Gosh I remember when Cassie did not want to stay with you. Now its Connor. Soon he will also change his mind. The capes were superhero perfect! So sweet to give apple slices to the horses even though Connor ate his. The the statue of the boy made me smile and I could see a slight similarity to it being a twin of Connor. Janice
Aww! It sounds like you had a lovely time with Cassie and Connor! The Superhero capes are so cool they look adorable in them. What fun!
Sooo cute!! You got some great pictures capturing your good time.
Hello! Mari, I absolutely love everything about this. Your grandbabies are precious, and clearly bring so much joy to your lives! McDonalds is always a good idea. I love the fish sandwich. Did you know you can get it with two pieces of fish? Anyway, I adore the capes and I love the cap! Rhett's nickname is Bubby! Peyton was only two when he was born and she tried to call him, "Little Buddy" but it came out "Bubby." We still call him that to this day! Have a cozy afternoon!
Your grandchildren are absolutely precious, Mari! I loved seeing them in their capes you so cleverly made and seeing the horses. The recent visit from ours reminds me that time goes by too fast and they grow up before you can blink an eye. Keep having beautiful moments with them!
What memories you and Bob have created with these two precious souls. I love Connor's attachment to the little boy in the flowerbeds. So adorable. Love his little cap. Cassie is so dear. She reminds me of me when I was her age. Love it that Bob is teaching her how to fly. In years to come, I am sure that no doubt he (and you) will be helping her fly through both the challenges and the not so challenging times in her life. I know in my challenging times I can still hear her telling her grandpa that she can do hard things.
Such a fun afternoon for all of you. I love the superhero capes; they turned out really cute. How funny that he loves that little statue. Kids are so awesome!!
Those two are so cute and how fun that Connor is coming around and enjoying time with you without his mom and dad. I remember when Ruby and Alaina were about those ages. The superhero capes are great and Connor eating the horses's apple was precious! Thanks for sharing the fun with us, Mari!
These photos of the grandkids bring back such warm and fond memories of our granddaughters at that age.
I can hear the giggles and really know how much you enjoyed that time together.

What a fun night! I love the capes you made. And who can blame Connor for eating the apple :) It's so cute that he thinks the statue in the garden is him. I mean...that only makes sense :)
Fun times. Cute pictures.
Oh my gosh they are so cute!
Such a fun time and your photographs are lovely.
A wonderful time together and special memories made.
All the best Jan
I don't know, Mari ... it looks to me like those kids were having the greatest time ever!!!! The capes are MARVELOUS. And my Cassie is getting so big, I cannot believe it! Connor too, and good for him, doing well without Mommy and Daddy! I want to go down the road and feed the horses! I promise to share my apple slices, haha xoxo 🏴☠️
Hi Mar, those capes are so cute! Connor loos cute with his hat too! Enjoy them when they are young. They grow up to fast!
Adorable! I love those capes, too. I laughed at the part about Connor thinking the statue was of him. Hilarious! Connor looks like he's getting the hang of being away from mom and dad. I remember when Cassie wouldn't stay the night and now she looks like she's ready to move in!!
You planned such a sweet evening filled with memories for the kids. I think Cassie looks like you. LOVE the caps. Your garden areas look lovely. So well maintained.

Awwww.....Connor is getting older and discovering how wonderful it is to visit!
Love these pictures. You and Bob are such fun grandparents. What wonderful memories you are creating.
