I hope you all had a nice weekend! We had a full weekend and I thought I'd share some of it with you.
On Friday night, we had a women's event at our church. Our Pastor retired recently and we have a new Pastor. He and his wife, Hannah have a lovely young family. A few of us set up a ladies night so Hannah could get to know some of the women.
I made a bunch of these little arrangements for the tables.
Here's Hannah at the entry table. We had a really nice evening.
On Saturday, we went to see our grandkids and bring them little Valentine goody bags.
Next stop was to see Alaina and Ruby.
There's a large Assisted Living Facility near Alaina and Ruby's house and we stopped to see this ice "sculpture". They set up a mister which is constantly going and creates this as it freezes. As you can see by the two story building behind it, it has gotten quite large in the cold weather!
On Sunday we went to friends after church and had a yummy meal and a fun time together!
Now it's Sunday night and I know the Superbowl is going on, but we aren't football people, so we've been watching British tv, one of our favorites!
What a nice weekend!

I am sure she appreciated it. And sweet grands.
I wonder if they have thought about that ice sculpture melting I hope it is a slow melt for their sakes.
you did have a lovely weekend.

Hi Mari! That does look like a very nice weekend. So glad that you were able to get together with family and friends. Weekends that we can be with those we care about are the best kind. We aren't football people either so after having some of your delicious chili for dinner (from your recent Cooking Thursday recipe) I worked on a puzzle while listening to an audiobook and some Christian youtubes, then read for a while. I hope you have a great week. See you again soon!
Nice that he can step down and take time with his family and whatever other outside job he may have. Good on him. Ice looked really cool.
Sounds like a wonderful weekend! The ladies' night was such a thoughtful way to welcome Hannah, and the table arrangements look lovely. Your grandkids are adorable! That ice sculpture is amazing, and a cozy evening with British TV sounds like the perfect way to end the weekend.
The new pastor's wife is cute, and you made lovely little arrangements! Never seen anything like this ice sculpture, it is very cool (pun intended)!
That fountain sculpture looks amazing
Sounds like a weekend full of fun and meaningful moments! The women’s event at church sounds like a great way for Hannah to connect with the congregation, and the little arrangements you made are so thoughtful! It’s always heartwarming to see the grandkids light up over the Valentine’s goodies, too. The ice sculpture is incredible—what a neat sight! Wrapping it all up with a cozy time with friends and British TV sounds perfect. Glad you had such a lovely weekend!
I love that your church did the Ladies' Night welcome party for your new Pastor's Wife! That is really sweet. As a former pastor's wife, I can tell you that anytime the congregation goes out of their way to do something special for the Pastor and/or his wife/family, it really means a LOT. I am sure she enjoyed it and that was a great way to get better acquainted with everyone. Again, as a retired pastor's wife, I say "Thank you" for making her feel so welcome! What a blessing!
Oh, so sweet that you were able to do some special Valentines treats for your grandkids. I know they loved it and again, great ways to make memories for them with their grandparents! That ice sculpture thing is beautiful! And I love seeing church families getting together for fellowship, especially in each other's homes. That is becoming more and more rare in these busy days. We used to do a lot of that kind of thing back in the days when we were in the ministry, but now that we are retired (and tired!) I don't do as much entertaining, and most of our congregation are the same..."tired", and so if we get together it is either out to eat at a restaurant or at a church pot luck at the church. But I miss the closeness that you have in being in a home together. IT just seems like you can visit better and feel more relaxed. Our church actually had a Super Bowl party last night. People took snack food, etc. We didn't go as hubby still isn't really feeling good enough to go out at night and be uncomfortable in church fellowship hall chairs for a few hours! So we stayed home and had our own little party just the two of us. I was happy with the results of the game and actually stayed up to watch the whole thing! (I rarely do that!). Okay, gotta run. I enjoyed your post this morning. Happy Monday!
Such lovely photos of the grands, smiles. Wishing you a beautiful Monday my friend.
I wish my grands were little again. I use to give them V-day bags too. I know your grands loved receiving there lil goodies. That is some ice sculpture. Sure hope when it melts though it does not cause any flooding. Glad you had fun this weekend. It sure was a full one for sure. Janice
Good Morning Mari. What a sweet way for your pastor's wife to get to know the ladies...Love the pink and the little rose vases. What a very neat ice sculpture. I enjoy seeing things like this. Your sure do have some cute kiddo photos...they are all adorable. We did watch the Super Bowl, mainly because of our home guy (Patrick Mahomes). I wasn't at all impressed with the half time show and the game ended up being a huge disappointment for us. Isn't it wonderful to spend time with friends, enjoying a good meal and sweet conversations? Happy Monday and keep warm...
What a lovely weekend. Your grands are the cutest.

Busy weekend! It sounds like a great ladies event and wonderful time with the grands.
Sounds like you had a nice weekend. Love to see your grandkids.
The fountain is very big and it must be very cold. Here we have rain this week and may have frost next week. Hope you enjoy your week.
You had a full weekend indeed, but each thing you did sounds so sweet. I love it that you made Valentine Bags for your grandchildren, Mari. When our two were young (probably until they were in their early teens), a Valentine package would always end up in our mail for them from my mom, their Gammy. Sweet memories.
love that iceberg creation... Hannah is beautiful and looks so sweet. mother coninuted to put valentines by every plate until we got married and moved out and then if we came over to eat in the month of Feb we still go valentines by our plates and she loved giving valentines to my sons
That was a nice thing to do for your pastors wife and also for your grandkids! I went to a super bowl party but only for the food!
I used to be a big football fan but my husband is not - plus either my son’s grown it’s not enjoyable to watch it by myself. It’s not the same anymore so I gladly have given it up to enjoy other things in life.
Sounds like some good times serving and fellowshipping! My goodness the Pastors wife is sure young. What a nice welcome you ladies did!
