Meet Piper! Meet Harriet!

You may remember that Laura, Aaron and girls lost their sweet dog last Spring.  Remie lived a good life with them and they were all so sad when she passed.  Last week, they decided it was time to start thinking about getting another furry friend to love and they went to an event that had rescue dogs available to adopt.
Aaron said when they met one of the puppies, he looked around and saw that all three of his girls were crying, and he knew this puppy was going home with them!

Here she is - this is Piper!  She's 10 weeks old and was rescued with a litter of puppies that were abandoned behind a gas station.  Don't you love her ears?  Laura says she must be part bat.

Two happy girls!

and one happy family!

I was checking on my Dad Saturday, when Laura and the girls showed up to introduce Piper to Dad and Ann.

And also on Saturday, Heather and Andrew let us know that they had adopted a rescue dog Friday night!  We haven't met in person, so I don't have many pictures yet.

This is Harriet!  She is about 12 weeks old and is a mix.
Andrew and Heather name their pets after writers, so her whole name is Harriet Beecher Stowe.  (They already have cats named Oliver Wendell Holmes and Lucy Maude Montgomery.)

Another happy family!

  1. What a coincidence! Piper is such an adorable pup. Those ears! And very soulful eyes, as well. Is Harriet a Black Lab? How old is she?

  6. Both such pretty dogs and the ears on Piper are something else! I love hearing when people adopt dogs versus buying them from a breeder. Cheers to both of them!

  9. Well this is just too precious! Our Stephanie and her family got a replacement dog several months ago to replace their beloved Shiloh who was killed by a neighbor dog, and their new puppy is named Piper! It was my idea but they loved it! And WOW this new Piper is SO adorable! I see Chihuahua in there and that is the best kind of mix, in my opinion. And Harriet! So cuuuuute! She reminds me of my Rizzo. I'm so happy for everyone! xoxo

  15. Our Border Collie of 15 years passed away several years ago now and we've been on the fence about whether to get another one or not. Seeing Piper and Harriet sure cause me to want another puppy. :) Both of these are beautiful...and I can't get over how much Cassie has grown. I see growth in just about every picture you share of her.
