A Day in my life

It's June!  Here's how the first day of the month went for me.

It was supposed to be my day off, but the Dr I work with messaged me in the morning and wondered if I was available to help with doing some admissions.  He planned to do them in the afternoon, so I still had the morning free.

I started with doing some things around the house.

There was laundry to be done, bathrooms to be cleaned and a little clean up of the kitchen.

I had an appointment for some blood work at 10:30, so a little after 10 I hit the road.

I drive through this little town on the way, and thought all the flags our from Memorial Day were so pretty.  Unfortunately, it must have been trash day.  It would be more charming without those trash bins!

Here's the lab, they got the blood on the first poke!

Here's my desk with lots of paperwork on it! We did a few admissions, and since I was there I worked on things I had gotten behind on when I was off work.
I left a little before 5pm.

When I got home, Bob and I left again.  We had to go to the Funeral Home for visitation for the former owner of the store Bob works at.  He was a great guy, always smiling, and was not shy about sharing his faith. He was only 74, but had a massive stroke, and told his family he was ready for heaven.

When we got to the funeral home, we saw this car out front.  He loved old cars and as you can see, kept it in tip top shape.
There were a lot of people there, a long line...  I think we were there for over an hour, and when we left the line had gotten even longer!

Since we hadn't had supper yet, we went across the street to a restaurant we like.  Bob had a burger, and I had a chicken salad plate.  This place is known for their amazing bran muffins.  It was yummy!

We got home a little before 8.  We walked around the yard, which is always fun this time of year.  Right now our clematis and the siberian iris are so pretty!

The rest of the evening was quiet.
Happy June!

    And your yard does too.

  17. Happy June to you too, Mari. You won't forget the first half of this year any time soon! What a wonderful tribute to Bob's colleague. They say you cannot measure a tree until it has fallen. The folks standing in line to pay respects to this man are his true measure of life on earth, but best of all, he laid hold on life eternal. That looks like a delicious light supper you had! xoxo
