It's been a long week with covid. I'm someone who rarely gets sick. I've actually worked at my job for 31 years and have only called in once, when my mom passed away. So, being off and not feeling well is not my norm.
This illness has just dragged on. I had a horrible headach for several days, achy muscles and a fever at night. I was also very tired. Then on Thursday, the headache started getting better, but I had GI upset and lost my sense of taste and smell. Friday I thought I was over it, then had a fever again at night and spent Saturday feeling awful! Sunday I continue with nausea and tiredness.
Bob never tested positive, but ended up with a chest cold, so we sat around together.
At work several more people tested positive, many with no symptoms. None of the staff are very ill either, so we are very thankful for that.
I was supposed to get tested on Monday and Tuesday, and if they were negative, I would go back on Tuesday. Now, I'm not sure, and will just wait to feel better.
I'm very thankful for that I haven't had a worse case. It's a strange virus and I know several of you have had terrible experiences with it.
Thanks for the prayers and cards! I greatly appreciate it!
I am so glad to get this update! Hang in there, you are young and strong!!
ReplyDeleteWow - I am so sorry you had to experience this. If it is this bad for you with the vaccine, I wonder what it would be if you had not had it. I hope you continue to do OK, and that you can return to your normal activities.
ReplyDeleteThis virus is so unpredictable, I'm sorry you are suffering but am glad it isn't as bad as it could be. Stay resting as long as you can, don't rush back to work.
ReplyDeleteI know it a strange illness for having had it. I hope you feel better, it’s very tiring, it took me two weeks to recover. Hugs from me.
ReplyDeleteOh Mari, I'm so sorry you're experiencing this. I'm really thankful you gotten the issues with your lungs. How strange that Bob has a chest cold but tests negative. For my sister Betty, the fatigue and deep coughing were the worst thing and she did need to be in the hospital a few days for treatment. I pray you will feel better each day this week and that Bob will too.
ReplyDeleteWow! I'm sorry to hear this. The symptoms you experienced and continue to experience don't sound nice at all. Especially since they drag on for days. I hope you feel much better today and that you get your normal energy back soon.
ReplyDeleteThat's the whole thing with this virus, you just never know how it will affect you. I'm sorry about the symptoms you've been having and hope it won't drag on much longer. Feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, get better soon! It sounds like you have the version that my husband and I had over a year ago. You might get "the cough" at the tail end that lasts for 6 or more weeks. Don't be concerned. This too shall pass. Prayers for your healing! If we lived closer I'd bring you food or whatever is needed.
ReplyDeleteSending love & prayers in Christ! xx
I am very sorry you have had this terrible virus. I know it has been a stressful time. God bless you and Bob and the staff and patients at your work, ❤️
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon. So sorry that the covid caught up with you all but glad that for the most part the symptoms are mild.
ReplyDeleteThanks for updating us. This really is a strange and unpredictable virus.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry you are having to experience it. Hope you feel better soon, and that Bob stays well. Don't rush the going back to work.
It is indeed a strange virus. So sorry...hope you will soon start feeling well again. Prayers!
ReplyDeleteThank you much, for the update. And of course, best wishes for full recovery.
ReplyDeleteI think you had 1 (so-called) vaccination. But not the 2nd. And now, you have your own anti-bodies, since you have the China/Covid.
So, before anyone pushes the 2nd (so-called) vaccination on you, please do much research. Even me, a non-medical person, can wonder, what sort of effect, a 2nd Jab would have, on your body, after having had China/Covid. -sigh-
Hugs......
This virus is so unpredictable...glad you are doing better. Give yourself time to get back to normal.
ReplyDeleteI feel for you my Sweetie! When I think I had it (even though the one test i took was negative) I had the same thing. Every night I would get a fever. Had dry head but crazy chest congestion. Headaches and body aches. Then the belly stuff. I never did lose smell or taste though. It was the most sick I ever was also and went on forever.
ReplyDeleteContinue prayers you kick it completely soon! I agree to rest until you really feel better. xoxo
Thank you for the update. I hope you feel better soon! I had Covid in 2020 and I know how terrible it feels. Take care!
ReplyDeletePerhaps after you are fully vaccinated, you won't get it again, but nobody knows for sure. That is why it is so important for the vaccine.
ReplyDeletePraying for both you and Bob every day, Mari! I never tested positive with Joe so sick. Go figure. Crazy virus with no rhyme or reason. Feel better, dear friend! xo
ReplyDeleteThat's why I got the vaccine. I don't want it. I don't like the vaccine either with the side effects but happy it is now in the past...until the booster comes out.
ReplyDeleteSoon it will be over for you - then you're natural immunity should last for about as long as the vaccine does.
Thank you for the health update Mari. I'm glad that others at your place of work are not affected and that Bob didn't get it. Prayers for your full recovery.
ReplyDeleteOh Mari, I'm so sorry. It sounds to me as though you've had about as bad a case as you can get without having to be hospitalized. Covid is such a strange illness. I recognize some of those symptoms but I was in such a fog when I had it, I'm not even sure how bad they were. I do know how awful those night fevers are, though. I have thought of you and prayed for you many times and will continue to do that! The taste and smell part is really irksome. TG says that when he sprays on his cologne after his shower, it still does not smell quite right to him, after all this time. I'm sorry Bob has a chest cold ... wow you guys sound miserable. I'm glad at least that this did not happen during the winter. xoxo
ReplyDeletePrayers continue for you my friend, and for Bob as well.
