End of Summer

Image may contain: text

I have to admit that this time of year always makes me a little sad.  I love summer - warm temps, sunshine, flowers, blue skies, green trees!  And I don't really look forward to cold, snow and bad roads, even though winter is beautiful in it's own way.
But Fall is also beautiful, so I need to focus on that and not start thinking about snow yet.
We have had a busy summer, and no time off for awhile.  Bob and I both have the next week off and are looking forward to a little relaxation.  So, I'm taking a blog break too.  I'll see you all in a week or so.

  1. I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiments in your post. Summer is not my favourite season because it is usually too hot most of the time but I do love not having to wear heavy clothing and dressing for the rain. I also love all the light we get. I love the Fall but it goes by so quickly so I have to focus on the beauty of it while it's here. Enjoy your week off with Bob.

  4. I am sure it is hard not to think of the snow days Mari. It is kind of like us in the south with the heat. Summer can just wear you down in the heat and humidity here. So glad God gives us Spring and Fall to enjoy. It is much more temperate here in those seasons.

  5. Well, enjoy yourself. You deserve it. I feel the same way about winter. I love fall and all the color, but winter is all grey and white and cold...and we don't even get that much snow. :)

  12. I agree with those saying do not think about snow, Mari, just remembering our 3 1/2 years in Kalamazoo, the lake effect snow, ice... I don't want to think about it. I prefer to think about the apple farms, the huge flocks of starlings flying back and forth, zig zagging to their hearts content against the sunset, the leaves changing color. I started up a new blog in the late spring and only just today figured out how to add a blog roll with the confusing new gadget thingy. Summer did indeed race by. I think however I will not try doing more with it til the weekend as I'm frazzled by the entire thing and the lack of real instructions on maneuvering the layout. :)
