I went past this cute building the other day and had to stop and take a picture. This is where I went to school from Kindergarten to 2nd grade. When I was in school here there wasn't all the playground equipment that you can see now. There were just a few swing sets and a merry go round, but what fun we had on that playground! I remember art classes in the basement, a room in the middle of the other rooms that was lined with hooks and a shelve for our coats and lunch boxes.
It is no longer a school. Right now it's a child care center, but before it was purchased there was talk of it being torn down. I'm just glad it's still standing!
Sweet memories are always fun to relive.
ReplyDeleteMy old school is now a school for the kids who are on in school suspension. I ride by it every now and then when I am in Chatsworth as it brings back good memories.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful building...I'm glad they 'recycled it's use for another purpose. It makes sense these days when city/county/state budgets can use a 'lift'.
ReplyDeleteFun memories! My childhood school is still a Christian school....although it’s much bigger than the three classrooms back then for grades 1-8. (1-3; 4-6; 7- 8)
ReplyDeleteCute little school.
ReplyDeleteNice that it's still around and gives you heart smiles :)

Sweet memory....
ReplyDeleteI am always happy when old buildings are maintained and saved! What sweet memories!! I love time on the playground too when I was a kid.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet memory, it's great that it's still around for you to enjoy :)
ReplyDeleteNice that this building still exists.
ReplyDeleteSo nice that it's still there. I bet you have many precious memories from then. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad too. What a wonderful memory to have. xoxo
ReplyDeleteOh how sweet, Mari. I'm glad that it wasn't torn down also. I can still go by the three-room schoolhouse where I went from 1st grade through 6th. It is also a pre-school facility now.
ReplyDeleteI'm so fortunate that the school I attended in grades 1 - 8 (Manheim Christian) is still alive and well, and a lot bigger than it was in those days. My children also attended that school and I taught music there for over twenty years. It makes me sad, though, that since I've moved away nine years ago, all those kids I had are now graduated from that school. If I went back to visit, none of the current students would know me. There are a number of teachers still there that I had such a wonderful bond with.
