Art Show

Last week we were invited to go to an art show for the Hudsonville schools where our Alaina is in Kindergarten.  There was art chosen from Kindergarten to 12th grade, and it was being displayed in the community room at City Hall.  I may be biased, but I think Alaina is quite talented in art.  She is good at drawing - better than I am and she's just 6!  However, the piece that was chosen was more of a modern art piece, which I am unable to judge!  :)   She was quite proud to have a piece entered and we were proud of her too!

 Here's City Hall

Here we are entering the community room.  It was a busy place!

There was a lot of art being displayed.  All ages were displayed together, as well as types of art.

Here are a few pieces I thought were quite good.

Alaina with her piece of art.

Ruby and Alaina after the show.  They were glad to be out and be able to run around on a nice Spring evening!  We were glad we got to go!

  2. That is a fine piece of art that Alaina entered. Those girls are growing up so fast. It is good that you were able to go and I know Alaina was happy you were there.

  8. I am always amazed by the art produced by youngsters in school these days. We never focused on that in my day and I would have really enjoyed it. Congrats to Alaina...she looks very proud of her work!! As she should be.

  9. Her art work reminds me of something I did in middle school. The art teacher thought I had some talent (I know, really??) and had me reproduce it on a fire hose door in the school hallway....remember those??
We just attended an art show at our grandsons school. And our granddaughter will soon have one at her school....a sure sign that the school year is coming to an end!

  13. Thanks so much for coming - she was so proud! We were wishing they had chosen one of her different pieces because she is so good at drawing, but it was so cool to be chosen either way. And LL Cool Joe is exactly right - the piece was titled "Mr. Mondrian." :)

  14. Mondrian, not being an artist, I had to look that one up. Sure enough, Alaina hit the mark! Kids these days are getting so much education at a younger and younger age. Alaina did a great job with her piece of art. She looks so professional posing with her work.
