If you were to look at our back yard right now, there wouldn't appear to be much beauty to observe.
At first glance, you would see:
A bush that had a hard time with the wind and snow this winter,
and grasses that are matted down and not looking any too beautiful!
However, if you look closely, there is hidden beauty!
Buds on the maple tree!
Daffodils popping up through the undergrowth.
A few dried remnants of last years luneria that outlasted winter.
Some of last years flowers left their seed pods behind, and they have their own type of beauty.
The hydrangea tree has 2 flowers that have made it all the way through the winter.
And the forsythia is showing off its buds, with the promise of blooms soon!
"For behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. The flowers
appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the
turtledove is heard in our land."
Song of Solomon 2:11-12
I LOVE all these signs of spring!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you see the bright side, Mari. :)
ReplyDeleteI love spring, too! You and Bob have such a lovely yard/garden and I know you are anxious for warmer temps. Have a nice Monday.
ReplyDeleteWe have turned the corner towards warmer weather and for that I am glad!
ReplyDeleteI love Spring and Fall best. Spring because after Winter it is so beautifully warm but without the hot summer temps. Then Fall is great for the beautiful colors and the end of the humdity here that does us in !!
ReplyDeleteOur yard looks very much like yours, Mari. Except: I'm not seeing any buds yet. :)
ReplyDeleteWelcome Spring - oh, how we love you.
xoxo
Beautiful! So much hope. :)
ReplyDeleteThere's beauty in every season and in the transition. Lovely composition of photos and the Bible verse.
ReplyDeletePoor Bob! He has a big job ahead of him. Just Kidding! When I had my health, I loved cleaning up the yard in the spring. It is a lot of work as you know, but it is so rewarding. With all the changes Bob has made and built, your yard is going to be spectacular this year!
ReplyDeleteI can not wait to look through that garden gate!
I love the Bible verse you used. Someone ought to put music to it. It is lovely.
I love spring and cannot wait for all the leaves and flowers to come back. Such a great reminder of God's love and how much he cares for his children!
ReplyDeletePretty pictures! I sure hope spring comes back for us. We had our spring in February.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post, Mari. Thank you so much for sharing the scenes from your backyard. I loved the blooms that made it through winter...even though they are in a different stage, they are still pretty!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a good weekend...maybe a little time with the grandgirls and not having to work. Praying for you continuing.
I really enjoyed this post Mari.
ReplyDeleteYes...yes, Spring is absolutely my most favorite time of year. And your photos are so artfully composed. That poor bush. Yet, it still has a lot of character. I bet your hubby will be out there very soon training and tying it up to regrow straighter, tho. Right?
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos Mari!! You should really frame some of those. I love the passage and sharing of the beauty that might be unseen. ;)
ReplyDeleteWe're slowly feeling Spring moments here too. Nothing much popping up yet - but seeing some green grass here and there between the last of the snow. Hopefully we won't see too much white stuff anymore.
blessings to you & Happy Spring!! xoxo
We in the Deep South really didn't have much of a winter this year unfortunately. For us, that means along with an early spring we will be over run with bugs and mosquitoes much too soon. But, it is beautiful with blooming azaleas and other warm weather flowers and trees and as I enjoy this wonderful spring afternoon on the patio, I am also enjoying the birds and butterflies. So, it is a trade off. Loved seeing your photography.
