I know we are all thinking about Christmas, but I have to share Thanksgiving with you yet!
I had Thanksgiving Day off, and it also happened to be my birthday, so here's a little about the day.
Alaina brought this picture she drew along with the red leaf at the top of the picture, because it was "so beautiful"! I thought it was so sweet! :)
We had my whole family for the day; Dad, stepmom, brother, 2 sisters and husbands along with our kids and my grandkids which totals 22 people!
Here's our place settings. I made name cards with felt turkeys and pilgrims which turned out pretty cute.
Alaina enjoyed her meal.
And Ruby really enjoyed it!
After dinner we celebrated a few November birthdays, and then the football fans settled in to watch the Lions play, and were very happy when they won!
The girls played on Uncle Andrew!
And some of the kids got involved in some wii games.
My sisters and I spent several hours working on Christmas cards together.
For supper we had turkey sandwiches, salad and some yummy pies.
My sister Cheri made this beautiful apple tart; almost too pretty to eat! But we did and it was good.
We had such a nice day together. Family is one of the greatest blessings God has given us, and I am very blessed by mine!
Welcome back. You are back and I'm taking a break! lol I enjoyed your photos so much. Alaina's drawing with the leaf is so sweet. Your birthday roses are gorgeous. Looks like you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving day. Hope the new week will be very nice.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had such a nice Thanksgiving and birthday! I took a little break, too! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful get-together!! We used to do this when my folks were alive, but now, since they're gone, all our family is so far away, in every direction. So I enjoyed this immensely. Brought back tons of good memories.
ReplyDeleteThe girls are darling -of course you don't need to be told that, I know!!
A belated by a couple of weeks happy birthday wish from me to you.
A Belated Happy Birthday Mari. Wow, on the table and all your family, smiles. The girls sure at getting big, Mari...smiles.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day friend.
What a fun Thanksgiving. I love that long table!!
ReplyDeleteI say it often, but big holiday gatherings are just THE BEST. I miss them. You are indeed blessed!! Love the photos...that big casserole being passed is almost gone, so whatever was in it must have been delicious! Thanks for sharing. I've missed you!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a perfect Thanksgiving and birthday surrounded by the ones you love most!! Happy to have you back Sweetie! Yay for the holidays ahead! ;)

Oh, Mari, it sounds like a beautiful day. I miss family so much. When we get together with David's family we have about 36 family. With mine, it's small, especially since my brother is not coming around. I'm praying this year for restoration. Blessings on you, my friend.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great day. I'll bet the food was delicious and mercy, that apple tart! Cheri is something else. We had a good day too, with all four of the kids and all four of the grandkids. That's about all the family I can take, haahaha. xoxo
ReplyDeleteWow so you fed 22 people!! How do you do that? I noticed the paper plates, that was a good move! Who has 22 china dinner plates?
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Glad you had a great time!!
ReplyDeleteYour table looks as long as the Pilgrims! Ha! Ha! I am glad that you all had a nice Thanksgiving and that the snow held off for the travelers. Cheri's pie looks to die for! Glad it was your birthday and that you had such a great party.
ReplyDeleteI'm a little jealous of your basement. I always dreamed we would have one like that, but I guess it's not to be. Thankfully Anthony and Lori have big rooms for plenty of tables and chairs.
ReplyDeleteIt was a good time as always! What a beautiful pie!! Aunt Cheri seems to have a way of decorating with apple slices! :)
