Do any of you watch the show Fixer Upper on HGTV? It's my favorite home renovation show. The couple that host it are Chip and Joanna Gaines. They are talented, fun and on top of the have a great testimony of putting faith and family first in their lives.
I love Joanna's style because of it's homey, comfortable look. She takes old things, puts them into a new place and gives them new life!
Because I like that look, you know I like wandering around antique stores and flea markets.
I was excited when I heard that Liz Marie, of Liz Marie Blog was opening a store about 15 minutes from my home. She has a style that is a lot like Joanna Gaines. Liz has a huge following on her blog and has been featured in Country Living Magazine. She grew up nearby and has recently moved back after her husband finished his military career.
The Grand Opening of the store was Thursday - Saturday. Heather and I decided we needed to check it out on Friday.
Isn't this a cute storefront? I like the name of the store too.
As you can see the store was full of people.
These are my purchases. The frame has glass in it, so you can write messages with a dry erase marker and then just wipe it off. The wooded box is just cute to set out, and I always like ironstone dishes.
We had fun and will be back!
I loved the store! There were so many things I wanted to buy! That box is great. It would have been perfect!
ReplyDeleteooh....very fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting Liz Marie's site. I put it on my feed. I have Chip and Jo on my feed too. I have watched all their shows. I like her style too.
ReplyDeleteI like the things you bought at Liz Marie. So you like ironstone. You probably like only white. I would give you a yellow set if you lived nearby. I need to get rid of dishes.
Your finds are wonderful. I would have loved wandering that store with you and Heather. Then I would have needed a snack and coffee, haaaahha ... xoxo
ReplyDeleteI do watch the show, Fixer Uppers, from time to time and enjoy it a lot. The woman is a very talented designer and decorator and I love the style. Looks like the store opened by Liz Marie is off to a roaring start! Enjoy your purchases.
ReplyDeleteWow looks like a fun shop! That is great that it is so near your home. We love stores like that. Enjoy this coming week!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you found some new treasures. I love rambling around stores like this to see what's hidden treasure I can find.
ReplyDeleteChip and Joanne are a breath of fresh air. A safe place on TV.
ReplyDeleteI love these kind of stores.I wish we had more in our area.
I've never seen the show but I'll look out for it next time I'm in the States. Although it's not my look, I'm not really into rustic stuff I do enjoy the talent and creativity behind the work.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite decorating show as well Mari. I also enjoy Tarek and Christina on Flip or Flop. Christina has a real eye for what works in decorating a flip house. I am trying not to buy anything except things for our proposed farm house. I really have enough decorating items that I should be able to do minimal buying of knick knacks and I can spend my money on furniture.
ReplyDeleteWe love that show...what great finds, Mari!!! Have a beautiful day, friend.
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun store! Thanks for sharing with us. I love shops like that, and it's always nice to support folk that have shops like that :)
