Autumn Decorations

I've told you before that I love the beauty that comes in the Fall, but at the same time I hate seeing it because I dread the thought of the winter that will be here all too soon!  But, it is here, and I decided I better do a little Fall decorating.
I like to focus on the Autumn aspect as I'm not a real fan of Halloween.  Here's what I did this Fall.

The front door has it's usual assortment of pumpkins, gourds and a mum.

This old milk can is from my Dad's farm.  It sits in the garage next to the door.  I change out what's in it depending on the season.  This turkey is holding a sign that says "gratitude is the best attitude".

I showed you this last week, but thought I better put it in again.  This is on our table.  The decorations inside and the candle are also changed depending on the season.

This is in the living room, next to the tv.  The picture and bowl are things I got 2 weeks ago at the flea market I went to.  Betsy from My Five Men has a hall table that she decorates according to the season.  Hers is bigger than this, but seeing it change inspired me to try something similar.   I had the old scale and I though it was a fun thing to add to the spot.
That's the extent of my Fall decorating - thanks for looking!

  3. Beautiful, Mari. I'm totally with you about mixed feeling over Fall. I absolutely love Fall and Fall decor (not Hallowe'en decor) But I dread the coming cold. I just wish Fall could replace Winter, lol. That would make me happy.

  4. I don't do much fall decorating any more. When the kids were little, we did a lot for Halloween, but not much any more at all. I love your cute fall decor. Maybe I will get my scarecrows out - you have inspired me. That is about all I do for the fall any more. Have a great week!

  6. Thanks for sharing your decorations. The side table with the scale is really neat! I love decorating for the fall, unfortunately we are in the process of remodeling our front enclosed porch into our office, so I have 'stuff' in the middle of our living room floor. I can't wait for it to be done, so I can have the room back again!

  11. I'm the same way. I love autumn decorating, but I don't do Halloween décor. Your porch looks great and I just love that old milk can. I love the autumn touches inside of your home as well. Have a lovely day... :)

  12. I agree with you on that I am more of a fall decorator than halloween....You have certainly added some great fall touches. I love the old milk can. I used to have one but not quite sure what happened to it....I guess it got lost in some of the moves....

  17. I really like what you've done, Mari. Especially like the table with the scales. And, the old milk can. My mom gave the one she had from the farm where she was raised to a cousin of mine. I really wish you hadn't (not that I'm jealous or anything, hahaha).

  20. It all looks really nice, Mari. You have such a pretty house. Everything always looks neat and tidy. Hey, I'm going to make your chicken/potato/green bean recipe on Thursday! I can't wait to try it. I hope you're having a good week so far.

  21. Lovely touches and much more than I've done at our house. I really need a kick in the pants...I'm even considering not putting up a Christmas tree this year. Bah humbug!

  22. Cute, cute stuff.
Love the new framed saying and the bowl.
I've never been much for Halloween decoration either, until the past few years. No ghoulish stuff for me though.. I like to keep it fun and sweet :)
    Smiles :)

  23. Thanks for the lovely tour Mari!
I'm more of a FAll than Halloween Gal too...but of course my kiddos love the Halloween bit. I do put out a few things in October, but nothing too scary usually.
Love that turkey sign - so cute! And that old scale is so cool with your vignette on the table. Love the pretty of this season!

  25. Love your decorations. I have an old scale too. I had two but I think I got rid of one before we moved.....crazy that I can't quite remember!!

  26. Oh, I love those mums in the burlap along with the pumpkins. I love the candle on your table and the sticks in the corner. I have been trying to find some sticks like those. The scales in your vignette is perfect. It is all so nicely done!

My decorations look pretty pathetic this year. I will have to share them soon.

  27. Mari, I honestly think that the table with the scales is my favorite of all that I've seen. You know I like simple and like neutrals. The scales are a great prop to use in vignettes. I've sold so many and I don't have one right now. I'm going to a Farmhouse sale this weekend and I intend to do something about that. Love this! Hope you are doing well. I feel like I'm in my own little world these days.

  28. I love Autumn and your decorations are beautiful. I know you dread winter. Just now on the news, they say your winter might be milder than usual...I hope so! Here in the south, they are predicting a wet winter.

  29. The older I get the more depressing I find Autumn. I think I'd rather just go from Summer to Winter so we get to Spring quicker! Ha. I love your decorating. I don't celebrate Halloween but I was tempted by a pumkin t-shirt I saw. :D
