Bob just finished this gate and installed it on the side of our garage. He plans to paint it white, add a walkway and some plantings at the side of it. I love the design!
He planted these black eyed susans last Spring and they are very happy in this corner!
Aren't these neat? They are what's left of our clematis flowers.
Here's a close-up of the phlox.
This row of Rose of Sharon bushes are all blooming.
They have pink, purple and white flowers.
The globe thistles will be blooming soon.
I'm loving Summer!
Oh, so very beautiful, Mari! Love all the colors, and the gate your hubby built is awesome! :)

Tell Bob I love that gate. Your yard is beautiful with so many gorgeous flowers. My phlox has not done as well as usual this summer. I guess because of lack of rain....
ReplyDeleteThat gate is beautiful, a lovely design, your husband is so talented! It just suits your garden.. very complimentary.
ReplyDeleteLove the gate. Your husband sure works hard!!

ReplyDeleteWow! Your husband did a wonderful job on the gate!!
ReplyDeleteIt's going to look even more amazing when you get the plant borders done.
Your entire yard is simply beautiful!!

GORGEOUS back yard "park"!!!
ReplyDeleteI've not heard of the globe thistle before today. I'm curious.
And the new gate. What a magnificent work of art this is.
Your yard is a garden oasis! Every thing is so pretty, and I love that gate. Bob sure is talented!
ReplyDeleteIt all looks beautiful! I can't wait to see how the new path looks once he gets it done. I think you need to start charging admittance for people to walk around! :)
ReplyDeleteThe garden gate that Bob made is to die for! It is beautiful and it even isn't finished yet. I can't wait to see the plants he places around it.
ReplyDeleteWe planted black-eyed susans last year, but they didn't come up this year. Also, we planted Shasta Daisies. We have lots of greenery but no buds or blooms. We had Shasta Daisies in PA and they bloomed profusely so much so that I gave so many away that everyone in our neighborhood had a shovel full for their gardens.
WE live in a very cold zone but I wouldn't think it colder than yours. Hmmm!
Hi Mari, Your yard is so very stunning. I love all the colorful flowers and the gate is beautiful. The circular design up top on the gate reminds me of a poem by unknown that I love:
ReplyDeleteOur family is a circle of strength and love, with every birth and every union, the circle will grow, every joy shared adds more love, every crisis faced together makes the circle stronger.
Lovely flowers , thanks for the tour around the yard. I enjoyed it very much.
ReplyDeleteThe poem that Mildred wrote and your gate go perfect to gather.
The gate looks awesome! And your flowers are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love the gate! What a lovely yard you have - so green and lush. Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful flowers. Love the new gate too. You two really have the 'greenest' thumbs I know of! Happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteLove the garden gate....I'm thinking Bob made this with his own pattern, right? So talented that man of yours is! The flowers are beautiful too.
ReplyDeleteI'm wild about your gate! I love circles. Bob is so clever. Your pictures are gorgeous, especially the globe thistle one. My TG loves Rose of Sharon! We had them all over our property when we lived in the midwest. xoxo
