100 Years of Fashion in 2 Minutes

My daughter Laura posted this video on her facebook. She put it up for our other daughter, Heather because Heather loves all things old and vintage. I thought it was fun, so I'm sharing it!
This is a short video that takes one woman and dressed her in clothing for each decade, from 1915 to 2015. I decided I really like the clothing from the earlier decades much better than the later ones. I think women looked a lot classier!

I liked the 20's, 30's and 40's.  Which era did you like best?

  2. I prefer the 'oldies, but goodies' to the clothing of today.

  3. Very interesting. I liked the older clothing best too - so much more feminine! Thanks for sharing.

  5. Yesterday I cleaned out my walk-in closet and got rid of three bags of clothing. Believe it or not, I do not own one dress. I guess you can tell which era I like best!

  6. The 20's, 30's, 40's and 50's. And with a startling realization my hair still lives in the 90's, LOLOL--What fun that was Mari. Thanks for sharing. Blessings

  7. That is a fun video. Funny we don't realize how clothes have changed till you see something like this. I agree with you, I like the older styles but never did dress the trends.

  9. What a fun video, Mari! I defintely like the styles from the 20's - 50's. You are right, they looked classy and elegant back then. Did you notice the model even changed her personality for each year....we have certainly changed from 100 years ago, haven't we.

    Happy weekend!

  11. I have always loved the 30s, 40s and 50s. They chose a Jackie Kennedy outfit for the 60s and I don't think that was really representative of all the mini skirts and hot pants that I remember from the 60s!! LOL

  12. 2015 reminds me of Dolly Parton when she said something like: it takes a lot of money to look this cheap. :)

I have a few pics of my mom dressed like l945. For me, I like l965.

Loved this, Mari. Thanks for sharing!

  13. That was a fun video and done in a short time. I enjoyed best the clothing shown from 1915-1935. It seems after the 1980s clothing took a dive downward. But I do like a lot of today's styles like the leather jacket and jeans. The whole look is put together and comfortable for every day occasions. I also like the maxi dresses of today. They are back in a big way. I don't like uncovered bellies, very short skirts and skirts. So many wear them yet I don't think they look good on most women and I don't even think they are comfortable to wear. Many people probably don't even realize the freedom they have compared to yesteryear in terms of dressing. In some countries it is still very restrictive.

  14. I've seen this on a news site once a while ago...always worth watching again.

My choice of style goes WAY back...not on the video. The Victorian/Edwardian era. Men and Women BOTH knew how to dress in style back then.

  15. Very interesting. I enjoyed this, thanks for blogging it. I loved the 50's and 60's. In looking at pictures of my girls when they were young, I always had them dressed in cute dresses and their hair fixed. I'd like to see the pendulum swing back to a little more "class".

  17. I agree with you Mari - I like the earlier decades better. Especially the 40's hair, hat & gloves. Love that classy decade.

  18. I love this! I'm glad you posted. I like the Downtown Abby fashions of the first season. Looks like the early 1900s. Then I like the 1940's. Of course, I love the 60's and the 70's. All I love, but todays easy style.
