Tip for Tuesday

I like to keep some of the plastic bags you get from different stores.  You never know when you might need one!  However, they can take up a lot of room and look messy.  I saw this tip a few weeks ago, and tried it out.  It really doesn't take long to roll them and it works!
If you save them too, you might like this tip.

  1. This is a nice idea, but I really had to laugh. No way will I take the time to fold plastic bags. I ball them up and store them in one of their own. It works and hangs on a hook in the laundry room.

  2. Wow, I've never seen that before. I store my plastic bags in a huge fabric bag that used to hold grass seeds, I think. It came to me through my husband's family; they have a lot of weird old things.

  3. Terri - I kept mine in a bag too, but they seem to puff up and take up a lot of space. This way I can store a bunch in a small space, and I bet it only takes about 10 minutes to do a bunch of them. :)

  5. I only use my reusable grocery bags, but I can see how this would take up less space and keep things organised! xx

  8. I used to fold all of our plastic bags like that! But now it is law here in Scotland that stores have to charge 5 pence per plastic bag. So we now always use our reusable environmentally friendly bags for shopping.

  9. Great idea! I'm trying to get better about using my recyclable bags -but I still always have a lot of these around.

  10. I save plastic bags also, but not the ones that have holes in them. I mean, what good is a bag with holes, right? Mary, my cousin, made me a bag holder out of fabric for me to use for this purpose. I stuff them in the top and they come out the bottom. It is a very handy piece of fabric! I like the idea of folding the bags like that. I think I will try that.

  13. Fun! I'm keeping my stash in an old tissue box under the sink. It's amazing how many you can jam into one little space!
