I don't know about you, but when I'm baking I never seem to plan enough in advance to soften my butter. If you have the same problem, here's a solution for you. I've been using this tip for awhile and it works great!
Put your stick of butter in the microwave and microwave it for 5 seconds, then turn it over one quarter turn, microwave for another 5 seconds, and continue until you've done all 4 sides. The butter doesn't melt but is nicely softened and ready to be used!
That's a great tip, Mari! :)
ReplyDeleteI usually microwave it 90 seconds on power level 2, but still melt the center a little...I'm going to try your idea! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI am the same way...I always forget to set my butter out before I start baking. Thanks for sharing, Mari :)
ReplyDeleteHugs to you!
I will definitely be using this tip...I always forget to soften the butter...
ReplyDeleteGood tip Mari! My microwave must be on a higher setting; usually after 13 seconds total my butter is softened...any longer usually melts it.
ReplyDeleteThat's a neat tip! I'll have to keep it in mind. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! :) I'm one of those who never think ahead and always is short of time.
ReplyDeleteThis one is a keeper, for sure.
ReplyDeleteGreat tip, thanks for sharing. Blessings
ReplyDeleteI have put the butter in the microwave and turned it on for about 10-15 seconds. It is then partially melted and partially softened. AM going to try your idea. Thanks and happy Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great tip..I always end up melting the stick. Have a wonderful day.

ReplyDeleteGreat tip--been doing this and it works .
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Thanks Mari. This is always a problem for me.
ReplyDeleteMari, thank you so much for this great tip! I've tried using the microwave before, but I've not turned it nor have I done it for short intervals of time like this suggests. I'll give it a try!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I remember, but most of the time I forget, so this was a very helpful tip. Thanks, Mari.
ReplyDeleteGenius tip Lady! I'm going to do this every time from now on. xo
ReplyDeleteI'm not very good at this as it melts when I try, I think the turning must be the thing. I will have to give that a go! xx
ReplyDeleteA great tip! I've tried to soften in microwave and I always melt the whole bar.
ReplyDeleteWell, for goodness sakes! I must try that.
