Ruby's first sleepover!

You probably know that we usually have Alaina over to spend the night every other week, on my weekend off. We've been doing it since she was a baby and we so enjoy it! Ruby is now 2 months old, and this weekend, she came along with Alaina.

Here she is in the car seat, bright eyed and ready for the night.

Bob has been looking forward to some quality time with Ruby. She is so fun now, she loves it when we talk to her, she smiles, laughs and coos at us.  She especially loves it when Alaina talks to her.

Lately, Alaina has been taking all the blankets she can find and putting them on the floor along with the couch pillows.  She loves to have us all snuggle with her.  This time, she said Ruby had to snuggle too.

Ruby still has hair issues - it still stands up straight.  :)

Grandpa and Alaina had a little snack of cheese and crackers.

It wasn't all smiles - there were a few tears too.

The tears stopped when Alaina came and talked to her.

Snuggling with a sleeping baby is the best!

Tucked in for the night.

Here they are on Saturday morning.  I love the way Alaina looks out for Ruby.  She always tries to comfort her.  Do you see her holding Ruby's hand here?
We had fun and I'm sure it'll be happening again soon!

  2. Awwwww Ruby! What fun! What a beautiful little baby girl! I happen to have a picture of her in that sleeper ... because I gave it to her, haaahahaha ... and in the picture she is doing a little pirate dance! At least that's what Laura said! That Ruby is a smart cookie. She must take after the lovely Alaina ... xoxo

  6. It is wonderful that you are close enough to them to be able to have them over every other weekend. We missed ours during their baby/toddler years because we were so far away. Lucky to see them twice a year. You are blessed to have such special times with them. Both are absolutely adorable!

  7. I love the name Ruby, and she is definitely a special little girl. I also love her hair! It is unique to her. Our grandson takes all the cushions from the love seat and sofa and puts them on the floor and plays like it is his boat! So I understand Alaina doing that for Ruby. Their imaginations amaze me at times.

  16. Wow, what a nice thing to do for their parents. They must have enjoyed their night off. Did Ruby sleep all night long? The girls look so much alike and they seem very close already.

  17. Pure Joy!
When my last baby girl was born ,she had lots of long black hair. When they cleaned her up after birth they wiped her hair up in a point and it stayed that way no matter what we did for a long time.
They are so cute any way.

  19. Love Ruby's hairstyle! These days how she fixes her hair is all the rage--a lot of singers like to have their hair like that. Looks like a wonderful time with the grandkids!

  20. You both are certainly wonderful grandparents. The girls will always remember the sleepovers at your house. Ruby's hair will be fine once it gets some length on it that will pull it down. She is a sweetie as well as the lovely Alaina.
