Cooking Thursday

Here's a good meal for the cooler days we're having. It's one of my favorite type of recipe - very easy, tastes good and uses a crockpot! For more recipes, visit Sandra at Diary of a SAHM.

Easy Beef Stroganoff
1 can cream of mushroom soup
12.5 ounce can beef broth
1 1/2 to 2 pounds beef stewing meat, cut in 1" pieces
1 cup sour cream
2 cups cooked noodles
Combine soup and broth in 4 quart slow cooker. Stir in meat.
Cover and cook on low for 9 - 10 hours.
Stir in sour cream and cook on high for 20 minutes.
Serve over the hot noodles.

This does sound easy and John will love it. We had a cool 53 this a.m.

We love stroganoff too. I used hamburger meat but might try the stew meat next time.

I love doing stew meat recipes in the crockpot - so tender and a great easy way to do dinner when working.

It is so nice when the weather changes and you can start crock pot cooking isn't it. I cooked in ours today for this first time this autumn and it was so lovely when I came home and it was cooking away! xx

It looks wonderful! But I'm surprised you can put the stew meat in at the same time as the noodles. It seems like the noodles would gets too mushy till the meat was soft enough. It does look like wide noodles. Maybe they don't get too soft so quickly.

Jean - the noodles don't go in the crock pot. You serve the meat over the hot noodles. :)

Silly me! I didn't even notice that part of the instructions!

My, that looks so good. I haven't enjoyed that meal since my mom passed away. I don't have a crock pot, but I'm thinking on getting one. I'm here most of the time by myself, but my daughter should be returning before too long. :)
